Energica Unveils `Experia´ World’s First All-Electric Sports Touring Bike

The Experia, a dedicated sport-touring motorcycle with a long-range and quick recharge period, has been unveiled by Energica, an Italian maker of high-performance racing electric motorcycles.
The Experia is called a "Green Tourer”. The platform, frame, steering, fairing, and other features, as per the manufacturer, are completely new and designed specifically for the Experia sports tourer.
The fourth all-electric motorbike from Energica is designed to offer "the thrills of a sport bike combined with the comfort of a regular touring bike."
With that said, let’s take a quick look at the Experia with its key specifications:
Design and Features
The Experia 'Green Tourer' bike is built on a new high-tech platform created by the firm. The bike's battery capacity has been enhanced in comparison to prior versions, although it still weighs less.
The tourer bike also comes with an aerodynamic sport-touring fairing, windscreens, comfortable seats, and a large (waterproof) luggage capacity of up to 112 liters.
The adventure tourer bike has a 5-inch TFT color display, vehicle control unit, six-level traction control unit with eABS and Bosch cornering ABS, cruise control, heated hand grips, USB ports, and parking assist (forward and reverse), among other features.
There are also four riding modes on the bike: Eco, Urban, Rain, and Sport, as well as four regenerative braking settings: High, Medium, Low, and Off.
Performance
The motorcycle is equipped with a 22.5kWh battery pack that can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 40 minutes with a Level 3/DC Fast charger.
Although the battery is compatible with all levels of charging. A fully-charged battery on the Experia will be good for a city range of 420 km, 208 km on highways, and 256 km combined.
The Experia’s EMCE Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor has a peak power output of 102 hp, along with a 115 Nm max torque rating.
The bike can spirit from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 180 kmph.
