Sensitive skin, Dull skin, and Acne are very common words we hear from people nowadays especially with teenagers.
So are you also tired of your sensitive skin? Are you following the most expensive skincare products? But do you know there is only one thing that matters a lot to your skin?
Yes, face washing! The way you wash your face determines the quality of your skin.
Here are some dos and don’ts while washing your face which will help you keep your skin healthy:
Do’s
Remove all the makeup first
You should always use a makeup remover to remove your makeup before you start actually cleansing because pores are used to purge out toxins overnight and if they’re clogged, every skincare you do will be useless.
So always remove your makeup before washing your face especially before bed.
Use lukewarm water
Always use lukewarm water to wash your face. The reason behind this is extremely high or low water temperature can cause irritation. So it’s best to stick to a middle range. Lukewarm!
Pat dry with a soft towel
Some of us have a habit of leaving water dripping on our face thinking it hydrates it; but in fact, when the water evaporates, it could lead to dryness. Remember to pat gently with a soft towel, being extremely cautious around the sensitive under-eye area, after you’re done washing.
Use a toner after wash
Remember, using toner means saving your face. Toners are light, liquid formulas originally used to reset your skin’s pH so it can protect the skin from bacteria and harm. Always, make sure you use toner to your face after washing your face. Moreover, toner with ingredients like rosewater is highly recommended.
Don’ts
Use a bar soap:
Bar soaps can alter the pH balance of the skin (which allows for more bacteria and yeast growth) and also results in very dry skin. SO never make the mistake to use a bar soap while washing your face.
Instead, you can use, cleanser and face wash looking at your skin types.
Stop at your chin
Many of us have a habit of only washing our face but do you know your jawline and neck are also prone to dirt? Yes, it is. So don’t stop at your chin. Moreover, when giving your face a cleansing massage, gently rub your fingers in an upward motion to get the circulation going and encourage your skin to stay tight and naturally lifted.
Overwash
We think washing more means clean skin but this is totally wrong. Over-washing leads to dry skin. Also, People often like washing their faces in the shower. Washing your face more than three times a day can be excessive and cause irritation and dryness to the skin. Remember, everything has a limit to stick to it.
