Satoshi Uchida has been appointed the new Company Head of Suzuki Motorcycle India.

As part of Suzuki Motor Corporation's global revamp, Satoshi Uchida has succeeded Koichiro Hirao.

Uchida has more than 30 years of experience in international markets. He has previously worked at Suzuki Motorcycle India as well as at Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan as the Deputy Executive General Manager of Motorcycle Operations (India/Middle East/Africa). His most recent assignment was in the United States.

"I'm thrilled to be returning to Suzuki Motorcycle India after a two-year hiatus from my previous assignment in India. This organization has always held a special place in my heart. India is, in reality, one of the world's largest manufacturers of two-wheelers. For us at Suzuki, it presents enormous growth opportunities, and it will be my goal to further consolidate our presence in India "Satoshi Uchida expressed his thoughts.

"We now produce or assemble the entire Suzuki two-wheeler product range for the Indian market. All of these goods are manufactured at our Gurugram plant to meet the needs of both domestic and international markets. In April 2021, Suzuki Motorcycle India set a new monthly sales record, dispatching 77,849 units.

It sold 63,879 units in the United States and 13,970 units abroad.

The latest Hayabusa, V-Strom 650 XT, Gixxer SF 250, Gixxer SF, Gixxer, Intruder, Access 125, Access 125 Bluetooth Enabled Edition, Burgman Street, and Burgman Street Bluetooth Enabled Edition are among the company's current offerings.

Maruti Suzuki intends to release several of the new SUVs, including the new Vitara Brezza and the Jimny off-roader. The company has already begun exporting the locally manufactured Jimny to global markets. While the global model is a 3-door mini off-roader, MSIL will introduce a 5-door Jimny with a longer wheelbase in the Indian market.

In fact, the new Suzuki Jimny LWB variant has been spotted testing abroad. This implies that a 5-door version of the SUV is in the works. The dimensions and specifications of the Suzuki Jimny 5-door have been revealed in a new leaked document. As previously stated, the new LWB version of the SUV will be based on the Jimny Sierra.

 

The Suzuki Jimny 5-door will be 3,850mm long, 1,645mm wide, and 1,730mm tall, according to the leaked document. The SUV will have a wheelbase of 2,550mm. The 5-door Jimny is 300mm longer than the regular 3-door model. The wheelbase has been extended by 300mm, allowing the automaker to create more interior space.

The Suzuki Jimny 5-door model is said to have 210mm of ground clearance. The SUV will be 1,190 kilograms in weight. It is said to have 15-inch wheels and 195/80 section tyres.

The new Suzuki Jimny 5-door will be priced higher than the Vitara Brezza. It will be equipped with an AWD system as standard. The LWB Jimny SUV, which is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh, will compete with the Mahindra Thar.
