On Tuesday, Renault revealed that it is all set to globally reveal on January 28 the upcoming Kiger SUV in India. The vehicle will be released in India for the first time, followed by its debut in other international markets. On the company's CMFA+ platform, the Kiger sub-compact SUV has been produced.

Renault Group has revealed eagerly anticipated Renault Kiger will premiere globally on January 28, 2021 in India .The vehicle will be released in India for the first time, followed by its debut in other international markets.

More significantly, Renault has confidently confirmed that the Kiger production spec would be around 80% identical to the concept car shown here. So, for a lightweight SUV, expect the Kiger to bring a bold design.

In a recent press release, “the firm noted. Renault Kiger has already made a strong impression for its distinctive styling, which is sporty, masculine and modern. It will come loaded with several smart attributes and features which will include some best-in-class offerings that will complement the design and styling of the car. The Kiger will be powered by an all-new turbo engine and will offer an exciting drive".

Built on the CMFA+ Platform, The Renault Kiger will compete in the B-SUV segment against the likes of the newly launched and its cousin offering the Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki,Toyota Urban Cruiser and Ford EcoSport.

In both naturally aspirated (NA) and turbocharged models, Kiger is supposed to get a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine (the same as the Magnite). While the NA versions are likely to get either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox to choose from, the turbocharged variants would, like the Magnite, get the option of a CVT automatic gearbox. It is also predicted that the power and torque figures are similar to those of the Magnite.
