Honor has officially unveiled the Honor 70 series in China with a 10-bit OLED display, and 50MP triple rear cameras.

This time, there are three phones under this series named the Honor 70, Honor 70 Pro & the Honor 70 Pro+. So, the Pro+ variant is new this time since that was missing in the Honor 60 series. 

With that said, let’s take a quick look at the Honor 70 series with its key specifications:

Design and Display

Here, the Honor 70 and Honor 70 Pro+ are similar in a lot of aspects, including their design and display. Both come with a 6.78-inch BOE-made OLED screen with QHD+ resolution.

It’s a 10-bit panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and is 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming certified, which helps to reduce screen flickering. You also get an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics.

Moving on, the Honor 70 series takes design cues from its predecessor. It keeps the curved edge design and a large pill-shaped camera module on the rear. Likewise, the Mist Stand color of the phone has a diamond-cut pattern on the back, whereas the rest of the shades have a matte finish.

Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset differs from the Honor 70 Pro+ from the ordinary Pro variant. The Honor 70 Pro, on the other hand, is powered by a Dimensity 8000 SoC. Regardless, both mobile silicons support up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Similarly, the handset is powered by a 4600mAh battery that enables 100W rapid charging. According to Honor, the smartphone can be charged up to 60% in 15 minutes and 100% in 30 minutes. In terms of software, all Honor 70 smartphones come pre-installed with MagicUI 6.1, which is based on Android 12.

Camera

The 70 Pro and Pro+ cameras include a 54MP Sony IMX800 main lens with a 1/1.49" sensor size. A 50MP ultra-wide lens and an 8MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom and OIS are also included. It's also worth mentioning that the ultra-wide sensor functions as a macro lens. A 50MP camera is placed inside a punch-hole cut out for selfies.

Honor 20 series is going to be unveiled on May 21 in India and will be available from June 11. Honor 20 line up consist of three different devices - a vanilla Honor 20, a lite model, and a Pro variant.

 

 

Honor 20 lite will be a re branded Honor 20i with Kirin 710 SoC. which is available in China. Where as vanilla model and the Pro version, will be powered by the flagship Kirin 980 chip. Pro version is also expected to have a quad camera setup as well as other versions will also come with improved cameras and may have punch hole displays. Most smartphone manufacturers have delayed their upcoming launch events due to coronavirus pandemic. Some brands that have gone ahead with their launch events. One such brand is Honor. On March 30, Honor announced its first mid-range smartphone with 5G is the Honor 30 series. The smartphone launched in Mainland China. Meanwhile, OnePlus has also confirmed that its upcoming OnePlus 8 series will go official on April 14.

Honor 30S specification

The Honor 30S phone equips with the latest Kirin 820 5G chipset, and it’s also the first Huawei/Honor phone to equip with a 64MP main camera. Talking about its display, which expands at 6.5-inch fullHD+ screen with hole-punch design. The side of the phone embeds power + fingerprint into one.

The power of this smartphone comes from 7nm processed Kirin 820 5G chipset. The GPU improves graphics performance by up to 38%  for the best gaming experience and new self-developed NPU kick in extra AI power of 70% compared to Kirin 810.

The Honor 30S runs the latest Magic UI 3.1 software system, supported by Huawei Share 4.0, Link Turbo network aggregation, and other AI-related software enhancements.

The camera of Honor 30S offers AI quad-camera comprising a 64MP main camera, 8MP telephoto camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. On the front side, it has a 16MP selfie camera support super night view for best selfies.

The rear side of the Honor 30S uses a new double-layer holographic pattern design with a 3D effect body, which changes according to the reflection of light.

The Honor 30S comes in four colors Night Black, White, Green, and Red.

Honor 30S comes with a 4000mAh battery that supports with fast 40W charging.
