Jeep India officially launched the Meridian three-row SUV. The new SUV comes in two variants: the Limited and the Limited (O).
The SUV is based on the same chassis as its older sibling, the Compass, and is effectively the Indian version of Jeep's global model, the Commander.
With that said, let’s take a quick look at Jeep Meridian with its key specifications:
Engine:
Meridian is powered by a 2.0 Liter, four-cylinder multijet diesel engine which also does duty inside the Compass.
On the Meridian, the engine puts out 167 hp and offers 350 Nm of torque. The engines come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and nine-speed auto transmission setup.
There is no petrol engine option with the SUV. With a top speed of 198 kmph, the Meridian claims to hits 100 kmph in 10.8 seconds which is quite impressive considering the dimensions and proportions of the vehicle.
Design and Dimensions:
The classic seven-slot grille on the SUV's front fascia is carried over to the new LED headlights (with integrated DRLs). The car rides on 18-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The interior of the SUV is dual-tone (black and brown) with leather-upholstered seats. All three rows of the car include recline features, while the front seats are eight-way power-adjustable and ventilated.
The dashboard is similar to Compass's, featuring a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment system with integrated navigation and voice command (compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto).
Meridian measures 4,679 mm in length, is 1,858 mm wide, and stands 1,698 mm tall. It has a ground clearance of 203 mm.
Features:
A panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, third-row AC vents with dedicated evaporator unit, automatic headlamps, remote keyless entry, push-start button, ventilated front seats, power gate with anti-pinch and memory function, cruise control, on-board navigation, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and rain-sensing wipers are some of the Meridian's many convenience features.
Six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control system, electronic roll mitigation, hill-start assist, electronic parking brake, parking sensors, reverse parking camera, and tire-pressure monitoring system are included in the three-row SUV's safety features.
