Hyundai India stopped production of the Santro

19th May 2022
"Hyundai Motor India has ended the production of its entry-level hatchback Santro due to low demand."

Hyundai Motor India has ended the production of its entry-level hatchback Santro due to low demand. Hyundai Santro, which was launched in India in 1998, was the first car introduced by the Korean carmaker to the Indian customer and was discontinued in 2015.

The hatchback, on the other hand, made a comeback in 2018, with a variant powered by a 1.1-liter petrol engine. The hatchback received new athletic styling cues as well as more luxurious features such as rear AC vents and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Although the facelifted model sold well at first, strong competition from Maruti Suzuki's Alto and Renault's Kwid led Hyundai to drop the entry-level trims.

Furthermore, as the brand met BS6 emission regulations, the price of the entry-level hatchback rose by 20-30% within a few years, resulting in a slow decline in sales. In actuality, average monthly sales for 2022 were roughly 2,000 units.

And with the government’s upcoming mandate to offer six airbags as standard, cars' costs would've risen even higher, thus Hyundai would be forced to increase the hatchback’s price even more.

Apart from this, Indian consumers' growing preference for SUVs or compact SUVs could also be among the reasons for Hyundai pulling the plug on its hatchback Santro.

Hyundai Kona compact SUV Facelift Teased

26th August 2020
"Hyundai launched Kona in Nepal before it did so in Australia and the US."

The Hyundai Kona compact SUV is part of the brand’s global model lineup, positioned above the Venue and offered in select parts of the world like Europe and North America.  Hyundai has now teased the facelifted version of the Kona along with its new sportier N-Line variant. The current model is the first-gen Kona and was revealed in 2017.

Hyundai-Kona-front-look

The new Kona’s front end design is inspired by sharks with sharp design lines. It has a split-headlamp design with bumper-mounted LED headlamps that look like a shark’s gills. The LED daytime running lights are still a sleek design along the bonnet line but look more sculpted than before.

Hyundai has also teased the new N-Line variant of the Kona which has a sportier front end. It features a wider grille and low-set air intake with fin-like design elements on each end. The facelifted Kona Electric is expected to get similar styling updates as the standard SUV but with a different grille that would be better suited for an EV.

Hyundai launched Kona in Nepal before it did so in Australia and the US. The Korean car-maker listed Nepal as a top priority market in the Asia- Pacific because of tax breaks for electric vehicles till FY 2019/20 (2076/77).

Hyundai Tucson Price In Nepal - Reviews

22nd March 2022
"Hyundai Tucson had established itself as one of the best SUVs on the market"

Hyundai Tucson had established itself as one of the best SUVs on the market. The Hyundai Tucson includes a number of new and improved features. It is a synthesis of innovation and premium comfort, providing drivers with power, convenience, and luxury. In terms of pricing, the Hyundai Tucson starts at Rs. 94,96,000.

Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai Tucson: Overview

Engine

Hyundai Tucson is available with two engine options: petrol and diesel. The petrol variant is powered by a 2.0 MPi engine with a displacement of 1999cc. This produces a maximum power of 155 BHP and a maximum torque of 196 Nm. Similarly, the diesel variant is powered by a 2.0 CRDi engine with a displacement of 1995cc. This produces a maximum torque of 410 Nm and a maximum torque of 178 BHP.

Exterior

Hyundai Tucson

The strong character lines are carried over to the profile, where the beltline has been raised. The lines that flow from the shoulders to the hips become thicker as they move to the hips, giving the back a wide appearance. The new taillights mimic the design of the daytime running lights and are linked by a thin strip of LED lights that runs across the tailgate. Designers embedded the rear Hyundai logo in the glass rather than on the sheetmetal, and the rear windshield wiper is hidden up under the spoiler.

Hyundai Tucson comes in four color options: Polar White, Thunder Black, Star Dust, and Typhoon Silver.

Interior

Hyundai Tucson

When you enter the cabin, you'll be greeted by large screens and a plethora of technology. The Tucson has a 10.3-inch touchscreen, capacitive HVAC controls, ambient lighting, and a second 10.3-inch screen for the instrument cluster. Lower trims get an 8.0-inch touchscreen with a 4.2-inch LCD display in the instrument cluster, but they also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which the 10.3-inch touchscreen does not have. The cabin provides a sense of spaciousness from the driver's seat. The hidden air vents on the dashboard, as well as the lack of a physical lever (hello, push-buttons), make the cabin feel more spacious.

Features

Other standard features include electric folding outside mirrors, a power driver seat, heated front seats, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, a lovely panorama sunroof, leather upholstery, ventilated seats, twin LED headlamps, and a navigation system are provided.

Safety

The Hyundai Tucson, like any other premium SUV, comes standard with a slew of safety features. Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Static Bending Light System are all available (SBL). Obviously, the characteristics are self-explanatory. Similarly, the new Hyundai Tucson includes wireless phone charging, cruise control, wireless smartphone charging, reclining rear seats, and drive mode options.

But wait, there's more! Parking Assist System (PAS), Auto-Cruise Control, Smart Tail-Gate System, Power Seat Adjustment, Seat Warming, and Cooling System are also included.
