The all new Apple Watch Series 7 is speculated to come with a completely new design with flat edges, similar to what was seen on the iPhone 12 series. Apple could also be looking to bring multiple colour options on the new model, including a special green shade.

The new details about the Apple Watch Series 7 were recently leaked. In a video posted on YouTube, new Apple Watch are based on the real images and CAD file he sourced from people familiar with the development. Concept artist Ian Zelbo has created these renders of the smartwatch.

The major change expected to feature on Apple Watch Series 7, is the introduction of flat edges instead of rounded ones, like the previous iterations of the Apple Watch. Apple tested some smaller bezels and larger display areas for the Watch Series 7 but it might come out with a similar screen size as its predecessor.

In addition to the design, Apple is also rumoured to bring multiple colour options for the Watch Series 7. The highlight among these will possibly be a green colour shade.

The watch is expected to be launched in September this year. If the speculations turn out to be true, this will be the first time that Apple will bring a new design since the Apple Watch Series 4.

The news reports are based on an exchange between Twitter user Nikias Molina and Jon Prosser, which involved the latter confirming that Apple Watch 6 will indeed come with a feature to keep a track of a user's mental health.

The next Apple Watch -- widely tipped to be called the Apple Watch 6 is expected to launch before the end of this year alongside the iPhone 12 range of iPhones. Interestingly, it is being reported that the new Apple Watch will offer mental health features to help out millions around the globe.

The original tweet by Molina detailed how the Apple Watch Series 6 will bring an S6 chip and a longer battery life while also offering sleep tracking and Pulse Oximeter features. The latter according to Molina says, is for "mental health abnormalities detection". This new feature is said to compliment the heart rate monitoring capabilities already existing on Apple smartwatches that make them capable of identifying potential symptoms of anxiety in wearers.

According to XDA Developers' Max Weinbach, who has previously shared some information about the feature on Twitter, preliminary reports suggest that the Apple Watch 6 with this new feature may detect panic attacks and when a user is under stress. It is then supposed to learn over time what symptoms occur before and during the panic attack.

The company could also shift to a faster wireless Qi-related charging standard to improve the Apple Watch 6 and help it stand out as a better offering than competing smartwatches.

A strap for an Apple Watch equipped with front- and rear-facing cameras are finally launching after nearly four years in development. The Wristcam has an 8-megapixel camera that can shoot 1080p video and take stills in 4K resolution and a 2-megapixel camera for selfies. The company says you’ll also be able to use it as a video walkie-talkie with real-time live-streaming.

 

Those might be serviceable cameras, but they’re not likely to replace your iPhone camera. The company sent over a sample of images shot by the Wristcam, which are pretty decent if a bit underwhelming in the details.

Wristcam, originally called CMRA, shows images on the Watch screen but has a separate battery, which the company says can last an entire day. You can take images and video just by pressing a button on the band, and it will sync them to your iPhone automatically when you drop it on its magnetically attached charging cable at night.

The device has 8GB of memory for photo and video storage. The camera connects with the Watch via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and with the iPhone via Bluetooth 4.2, 5.0, and Wi-Fi.
The Wristcam band weighs 23 grams, about half the weight of the lightest Apple Watch, and comes in interchangeable colors, including noir, blanc, gray, rose, and sage. Both cameras have LEDs that light up when a photo or video is being shot, so it’s clear when the device is in photo-taking mode. It’s controlled by one multifunctional button.

According to CEO Ari Roisman, the Wristcam can take up to 20 seconds to share a photo directly from the Watch over Bluetooth but will sync directly with a connected iPhone. The ability to share photos directly from the Watch won’t be available at launch but in a future update, Roisman told The Verge.
Roisman told The Verge the company is focused on shipping units to customers who supported the original crowdfunding campaign, which pre-sold 10,000 units. The lengthy delay stemmed from design challenges, Roisman said, but customers who have stuck with the company should receive their Wristcams by the holidays. Since it’s been four years, the company said it offered refunds to any of the original crowd funders who wanted their money back.

The Wristcam is taking direct reservations from customers on its website for $299. The first direct-to-customer units will ship in March 2021, the company says.

Apple has added some interesting features to its latest product Apple Watch Series 6.

 

Some of the new features include a SpO2 sensor, U1 ultra wideband chip, and automatic handwashing detection. The next edition in the series is expected to come with sensors for blood pressure, blood glucose, and alcohol level monitoring. These features are not completely new and some of them have already been implemented in other brands of smartwatches. Samsung has already unlocked BP monitoring for Galaxy Watch Apple 2 users in South Korea. 

Apple plans to make these features widely accessible compared to Samsung’s features being limited in certain regions. Apple has been reportedly working with Rockley Photonics to introduce glucometer in the Apple Watches. Rockley Phonotics is a start-up that develops sensors to read blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood levels. Some reports suggest that the mentioned features will make it to Apple Watch by 2022, so it remains unclear if they will be a soon next Apple Watch.
