Hyundai Nepal organized a tree plantation under its “Be (v) the Change” campaign

22nd August 2022
"Hyundai Nepal organized a tree plantation program at Ratomate Danda, Chunikhel under its, “Be (v) the Change” campaign."

Hyundai Nepal organized a tree plantation program at Ratomate Danda, Chunikhel under its, “Be (v) the Change” campaign.

More than 200 trees were planted on the day by around 150 participants from all age groups in coordination with the Ratomate Danda community forest.

EV customers of all age groups and their children participated in the event that saw 40+ EVs with the lineup of KONA and IONIQ 5.

Hyundai Nepal’s “Be (v) the Change “is an initiative undertaken by the company in solidarity with Hyundai Motor Company’s commitment to a sustainable future.

The term Be (v) corresponds to Battery Electric Vehicles, the new norm for carbon neutrality, and thus Be (v) the Change acts as a call for sustainability-focused actions for the adoption of sustainable practices at an individual and community level.

The tree plantation is one of the early steps undertaken under this initiative with a view to compensate for the carbon footprint created by fossil fuel vehicles.

Hyundai Nepal plans to organize other sustainability-focused activities under the “Be (v) the Change” initiative in days to come.

Last September, Hyundai Motor Company, the parent company of Hyundai Nepal, pledged carbon neutrality at all stages of its production and operation by 2045—five years earlier than the global carbon-neutral target of 2050.

The company has been making significant investments in its journey towards carbon neutrality and plans to have 23 eco-friendly vehicle line-ups and one million electric vehicles by 2025.

This April, the company launched a global campaign, entitled the “Goal of the Century” that aims to utilize the global appeal of football to send a message and unite football lovers and others around sustainable living.
