Mahindra Ready To Reveal New XUV700 SUV

29th April 2021
"Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to reveal the much-anticipated XUV700 SUV in the coming weeks"

Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to reveal the much-anticipated XUV700 SUV in the coming weeks. A dedicated website for the upcoming 6-seater SUV has gone live ahead of its official debut, where interested customers can sign up for the latest updates. The Mahindra XUV700 will be the production version of the W601 project, which is set to launch in the third quarter of 2021 (i.e. between July and September). It will compete against the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar in this segment.

The new Mahindra 7-seater SUV will be manufactured at the carmaker's Chakan plant in Pune, Maharashtra. The XUV700 will be a spiritual successor to the XUV500. The SUV will be based on the same platform as the new Thar and will have a better design, advanced technologies, and more powerful engines than its predecessor. It will, in fact, be larger and more spacious than the XUV500.

As previously stated, the new Mahindra SUV will include ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), an autonomous braking system, a radar system, 3D panoramic vision for the driver, and an eyelid tracking mechanism.

The new Mahindra XUV700 SUV will be available with a new 2.0L turbo mStallion petrol engine and a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine. The gasoline engine will produce 190bhp, making it the most powerful SUV in its class. The oil burner will produce close to 185bhp. There will be two transmissions available: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

A 5,000mAh battery powers the Galaxy M42 5G, providing up to 36 hours of talk time on a single charge. The box includes a 15W charger. The phone includes Samsung Knox security. It also has NFC, which allows users to make contactless payments using Samsung Pay.

"The new Mahindra XUV700 will be launched in India later in 2021."

Mahindra's new XUV700 will be launching in India later this year. The company has previously rolled out details on the car's key features including Auto Booster Headlamp, Smart Pop-up Handles, Driver Attention Monitor, and widest-in-segment roof.

Mahindra has confirmed via its social media handles that the upcoming new-gen Mahindra XUV700 will also get Smart Filter Technology to make cabin air safer for occupants.

The key features of the XUV 700 will include a leather-wrapped multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel, reading lamps, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, etc. It is also said to receive the level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

It will be equipped with a dual-screen high-resolution display on the inside that has taken inspiration from screens found in high-end luxury cars. This display will act as a touchscreen infotainment system and as an instrument cluster as well.

SUV will be introduced in both diesel and petrol engine options with both automatic and manual transmission units. As part of the optional kit, also expect an All-Wheel-Drive system to be introduced.

When launched, expect it to be priced somewhere in the range of INR 12 lakh to INR 17 lakh.
