Maintain Carburetor and filter of bike

The carburetor and filter should be regularly monitored and maintained. The dirt and dust around the city seem to collect around the carburetor passing the filter which obstructs the regular flow of petrol to the engine. This results in overconsumption of petrol in the bikes.

Kill your engine when the bike is stationary

There are times such as traffic jams, traffic light, and important phone calls at which your bike need to be stopped. In such situations, it is better to put your bike in neutral and kill the switch. Even the motionless bike engine consumes petrol which can now be controlled.

Clutch, Brakes, and Gear

We understand the necessity of clutch, brakes, and gear in a heavily crowded city like Kathmandu. All three parts must be used at all times. The clutch needs to be pressed to avoid the killing of the engine in a jam where you constantly need to brake and gear down to the lowest gear. Such activities consume more petrol than necessary. Hence, minimizing such usage when you can make a big difference in your consumption of petrol and a fat wallet.

Avoid parking your bike under direct sun

Petrol is a substance that evaporates fast even if you keep it in a vessel. When you park your bike under the direct sun, the heat evaporates the petrol at a fast rate. Therefore, try to avoid parking your bike when there is no shade above it.

Tire Pressure

The tire pressure should also be regularly monitored. The pressure must be approximate as per the bikes tire type and capacity which is mentioned in the brochures. If the pressure tends to be high or low than required, the bike cannot give its best performance and consumes more petrol to provide the optimum show.

A few days ago, Hero  announced its three products to the Global Center of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur. It has Hero Xtreme 160 R as the new product. The company said Hero Xtreme 160 R will start selling the motorcycle in India from March.

In a discussion with international media, Rajat Bhargava, the business head of the company, said that it will start selling the Hero Xtreme 160 R motorcycle in the international market.

As for Hero Xtreme 160 R specs, this motorcycle has a 166 cc air-cooled, FI engine. The engine will provide 15 bhp of power at 8500 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. This new Hero motorcycle will find a speed of 0 to 60 kmph in just 4.7 seconds.

Jawa brand is in the process of coming to Nepal after Mahindra bought the property and started production in the Indian market. Currently, in the Indian market, Jawa is selling motorcycles in two models. Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak are the models that will arrive in Nepal.

Jawa motorcycle is one of the upcoming bikes in Nepal and is expected to enter the Nepalese market within the year 2020.

Yamaha XSR 155

As the official distributor of Yamaha's Nepal distributor, Morang AutoWorks has started bringing in new models produced in the country besides India, Yamaha XSR 155 is on the list of potential upcoming bikes in Nepal to be brought in 2020. A motorcycle based on the platform of the WZF-RVV has been under discussion in the Thai market.

The Yamaha XSR 155 has a chassis, inverted telescopic front fork, rear mono-shock, engine and some components from its popular motorcycle 'MT 15'.

It has a round LED headlamp and dual-tone fuel tank. A bike with a 155 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine connects to generate 19 bhp of power and 14.7 Nm of torque. The bike has a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels, digital instrument cluster, LED headlamps and slipper clutch make the bike a premium. It is estimated to be made public within 2020 in Nepal.

The new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycle comes with three ride modes, Sport, Urban, and Rain. The Sport Mode allows for maximum power and sharp acceleration while riding on the highway. The Urban Mode allows delivering optimum power and control for the city whereas Rain Mode comes with ABS tuned to deliver maximum response helps the rider gain better traction and control over the bike.
