Woman in Big Data is going to organize a virtual panel discussion on 'Belt Your Data' on Sunday 19th. The virtual event, which will be held on the Zoom platform, will share knowledge and facts on data theft cases in Nepal.

The organizers expect 500 people to participate in the virtual program to be held on Sunday from 2 pm to 4 pm. Dobhan Rai, data scientist and education coordinator, Narayan Koirala, managing director of Eminence Wage, and Pravin Subedi, information and communication technology law expert, will be the three panellists at the event, according to a statement issued by the organization.

 

Participants in the program will be able to ask questions to the panellists on related topics as well as have one-to-one discussions. The program will analyze the latest data breach cases in Nepal. 

 

The program is being organized with the objective of promoting data literacy and awareness. Woman in Big Data is an organization founded in 2015 in the United States with the aim of attracting talented women in the field of 'Big Data and Analytics'. The Nepal Chapter of Big Data was made public only last May.

The Redmi K20 Pro PUBG Mobile Tournament 2020 Nepal final was held at Chhaya centre, Thamel on 22nd Feb 2020 with the top 16 teams.

Xiaomi Nepal with Kurukshetra  organized a PUBG event in Nepal. This was one of the perfect platforms for PUBG players to showcase their talent. The gaming community in Nepal has been growing quite a lot these past few years. Xiaomi  had organized this PUBG Mobile Tournament 2020 event in collaboration with Kurukshetra. In the finals of this PUBG Mobile Tournament, there were a total of 16 teams out of 160 teams playing against each other.

In the LAN finals, the 16 teams had a battle with each other. Each team was giving tough competition to each other. But out of these 16 finalists, KINGS NEPAL won the first position. Team SINS and team EXPERIMENTAL took second and third position respectively.

The prize pool for these PUBG tournament winner teams was Rs 50,000 for 1st position, Rs 30,000 for 2nd position and Rs 20,000 for a 3rd position.

For the top 5 position holders, Vianet is also offering free internet services. 1st position holder-KINGS Nepal will be given free 20Mbps internet for 1 year, 2nd place holder (SINS) will get free 20Mbps internet for 6 months. And for the 3rd–Experimental, the 4th–Ultimate Bang and the 5th– MAD ES Nepal finisher will get free 20Mbps internet for 3 months.

Mr. Nirvana Chaudhary

Mr. Nirvana Chaudhary is the Managing Director of CG Corp Global, a billion-dollar multinational company, making him possibly the youngest business leader of Nepal. Educated in Doon, Harrow, and MIT schools, he founded his own company CG Finco when he was 19. He is also the Vice President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries and on the board of the Cricket Association of Nepal. He is also a philanthropist – the Chaudhary Foundation launched to help the underprivileged communities of Nepal. Apart from this, he is known for his interest in music. He loves playing the guitar and sings really well.

Ms. Yulia Koirala

Ms. Yulia Koirala is the founder and Director of Sushila Arts Academy that was established in Nepal in the year 2012. Her passion is to support and promote the arts in Nepal. One of the main reasons that inspired her to open the academy was an eager desire to uplift the standard of dance training available in Nepal.

Mr. Pemba Lepcha

Mr. Pemba Lepcha is the legendary lead guitarist and founder of Prism Band which was founded in 1976. The band was a pioneer in playing English songs in Nepal and hasn’t stopped rocking the scene to date. Original members of the group include Prolad Roka (Bass Guitarist Vocal) Pemba Lepcha (Lead Guitarist Vocal), Late George Subba (Drummer Vocal), and Dinesh Rai (Guitar Vocal).

Dish Media Network Ltd., a satellite television distributor, has launched a mobile app that allows you to watch television on your mobile phone. The company had recently launched a mobile app called 'DishHome Go' to allow customers using its DTH service to watch television on their mobile phones through the internet.

For the first time in Nepal, HBO channels can be watched on mobile in the same app. "This is the first time that HBO's channel has been made available on the OTT app of a television service provider in Nepal," said Sudip Acharya, managing director of DishHome. It has all the channels of HBO available. '

DishHome has given its users the facility to watch 20 channels on their mobile through DH Go. The 20 channels include HBO, HBO Signature HD, HBO Family HD, HBO Hits HD and Cinemax.

The company also said that Dishhome users can easily watch new English movies on their mobile phones anywhere and anytime.

Dishhome has made the television channels available in the set top box available on mobile through OTT (over the top) technology of the Internet. According to the company, there is no additional charge for using this app. DishHome users will be able to use this service for free using the customer ID of DTH connection.

The company has stated that this service has been launched especially for the convenience of DishHome users. "Our plan is to connect users to DishHome even if they have to stay out of the house one day," said Acharya.

Dishhome users will be able to use the service by downloading the Dishhome Go OTT app from the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for Apple. The company has stated that users other than DishHome customers will not be able to use this app.
