Things to Consider while buying a Riding Jacket

1st January 2021
"Everyone looks good in a Riding Jacket."

A good riding jacket is among the most essential aspects of riding equipment. It not only offers protection from the weather and lets you prevent severe injury in the event of a collision, but also makes you appear stylish as you ride your favorite two-wheeler. Although selecting the right riding jacket needs little information, here are some basic tips that can be more than just a cosmetic enhancement to your riding gear with the aid of your jacket.

Fit:

As critical as its safety capability, a comfortable fit for a riding jacket is, The jacket should not be too tight or too loose, both in summer and winter, so that it can be worn easily. In addition, the arm length should be perfect since longer sleeves will make riders struggle while gripping the handlebars.

Number of Pockets:

To carry specific items, like cell phones, wallets, etc., a riding jacket must have at least a few pockets. This can be a handy way of holding essential things during a journey, and without any hassle, you can conveniently hold any of the above-described utilities.

Air Vents:

A riding jacket that is made up of leather must have air vents. Make sure that the leather riding jacket that you are buying comes with air vents. Since leather has poor air passage with the absence of air vents the rider will end up sweating during summer days. So, air vents are important.

Reflectors:

Essentially, a riding jacket must have reflectors. The theory is that it helps to boost vision in the dark since riding at night can be risky. This is when a rider needs to get noticed by other vehicles. They can shine in the light of some other car if you have reflectors on your riding jacket to make you extremely noticeable. Hence, riders can be spotted from a distance by other vehicles.

Thickness:

Bear in mind that the thickness of the leather should be at least a millimeter thick or more when selecting a leather jacket. In the event of a collision, this can be very beneficial as your skin will not get affected due to this dense coating of leather on it.

5 Motorbike Accessories that every biker must-have

13th September 2020
"Safety always comes first."

Riding a motorcycle is easy, affordable and it brings you this incredible sense of freedom. "Safety always comes first," is one motto that you should always follow while riding a motorcycle. Safety is indeed the topmost priority for motorcycling. Luckily enough, you have plenty of protective equipment accessible.

We have compiled a list of 5 accessories for bikers that will help you put your safety and feel all the thrill you need.

MOTORCYCLE HELMET

Without even a doubt a helmet is by far the most crucial piece of accessory a rider can have.

Motorcyclists are often more likely to discover themselves in an accident than cars. To save yourself a chance of living after being in a crash, wear your helmet! Helmets are very crucial equipment for a rider.

Bike helmets can be pricey but just don't try to buy the cheapest one in the market just for the traffic police, because you can't put a value on your head. When shopping for a motorcycle helmet, you need to make sure it is of top quality, supportive, and has the correct credential.

MOTORCYCLE JACKETS

Motorcycle jackets are mostly made of leather which is a strong fabric that gives you additional security while riding.

Motorcyclists wear leather mainly for safety. Leather has proved to offer additional security when riding a motorbike than standard clothing. In the case of an accident or collision, leather belts, vests, and chaps help them to shield their body's vital parts. Wearing leather can make you look cool during a motorcycle ride and certainly keep you safe. Over time, motorcyclists have introduced several elements to leather riding so there are other features that wearing leather can also provide apart from protection and looking cool.

MOTORCYCLE GLOVES

You have more than enough choices to choose from when it falls to hand defense. When buying motorcycle gloves there seems to be a range of requirements to look for. You want to buy convenient, warm, water-resistant gloves that offer you additional safety and a complete range of motion. Seek for gloves that aren't quite as heavy, and that give knuckle security and prolonged wrist protection.

MOTORCYCLE EARPLUGS

Have you got this buzzing sensation in your ears after a trip? A typical cause of hearing loss is this ringing, also identified as tinnitus. The right way of stopping it? When you're on your bike wear earplugs! Engines can make a lot of noise, but it is mainly the breeze inside the helmet that really can harm your ears. If you are a keen rider who likes to go for speed then this is really necessary for you. Just one motor ride will suffice for permanent hearing impairment. Earplugs are the only way to avoid this, and more importantly, they can make riding the motorcycle better. That's because you feel sleepy when you're exposed to excessive noise. As a result, your attention sinks and you are less in a position to rely on traffic. That can be pretty dangerous.

CRASH PROTECTION ACCESSORIES

Will not say anything, it is important to invest in motorcycle protection parts and components. Luckily, many bike safety options are installed today, such as crash bobbins, frame sliders, hand guards, crash bars, or skid-plates. Wearables for crash safety are designed to add protection for the body and parts of the bike in case of a fall, slip, or accident.

They not only preserve your bike but can help you save a lot of money in future maintenance over the foreseeable future. And we all know adjustments will end up being very pricey, so wards off your bike!

Why isn't your motorbike starting?

4th November 2020
"Still trying to identify what could be wrong with your motorcycle. Well here's a few answers."

Few things can be more infuriating than a non-starting bike. It has the power to spoil your whole day if you're all set to go for a trip only to be interrupted by a dilemma you weren't expecting. Trying to identify what could be wrong with your motorcycle, rather than dwelling on your anger, will help you find answers and eventually get you back on the road as soon as possible. Working on your bike is a perfect way to be productive rather than frustrated, because if anything, at least with a small problem that you might have done yourself, you will stop wasting money on a technician.

Fuel

fuel

It’s one of the obvious reasons why your bike might not be starting. It is very difficult to judge its availability using the scale when the fuel level goes down, and it may also be a reason why your bike does not start. You should use certain old school methods at the time to verify whether or not your bike has petrol. One of the safest approaches is to softly shake the bike on the main stand and wait to hear the usual telltale slosh of leftover petrol, if any, from the tank.

Battery

Indeed, the battery that is secured securely on your bike is the lifeline to the whole electrical grid. The starter motor is totally reliant on the battery for two-wheelers fitted with only an electric start. It will only be able to rev up the motor that requires a very high voltage from the battery if the battery holds enough power.

One will not be likely to use the electric starter on a relatively small battery. Any signs of a dead or faulty battery are that neither really works well or reports complete loss when you press the horn button or turn on the lights.

Spark Plug Wires

spark-plugs

With a wire being defective, it may not be an issue, but it could have come loose. Metallic conductors that connect to the spark plug tips are inside the wires. It won't make a clean connection if the wire is loose, and the engine will refuse to fire properly or begin and malfunction.

Loose spark plug wire for motorcycle riders is not a new phenomenon, it can arise because of the jerks or it may be a trick. To resolve this error, you don't need a technician. Only unplug the connections and re-plug them to try once more to power the motorcycle.

Clutch Problems

clutch

The typical failure mode of a worn-out friction disk of the pressure plate that has lost its tension is a clutch that does not completely engage or slips under heavy load. The abrupt onset of a sliding clutch usually means that the friction surfaces have been polluted by an oil spill, or something else.

You need to pull the clutch lever correctly when you start your bike and the transmission is in gear. The clutch does not engage correctly often which causes a starting question. Bring the transmission to neutral in such a state and try again.

Clogged fuel tank vent

Vehicles today have a vent hose which forms part of the fuel system. Fueling consequences follow when this line is clogged or diverted.  Attempts to fuel the motor fails, since the back pressure turns off the pump continuously.

The tank blocks the flow of fuel to the lower device as this vent is clogged. In that opening, you can unclog the vent with a very thin wire or pin together with a forced blast.

Bike not Starting of cold

Way too many of us are struggling to get our bikes started early in the morning, particularly in the winter months. Many riders can fire up a freezing engine to its full max, and then there are others that want to kick-start the engine one too many times by flooding it. Your engine can be damaged by all these strategies.

Cut-off engine switch

engine-switch

Before getting irritated with the initial problem, it is one of the most popular items we fail to investigate. We use the ignition key much of the time to power off the motorcycle instead of the button to disable or shut off the engine. So when we use it, sometimes we fail to turn off the switch and keep struggling to make the motor crank.

Tips for Motorcycle Brake Maintenance- Reviews

28th December 2020
"Maintain the most important part of your bike!"

If we talk about a motorcycle's most critical and foundational safety feature, everyone would agree about the braking mechanism. So, by daily repairs, it is very important to still keep it fit. Both the front and rear brakes operate separately on bikes, which makes them less difficult than a vehicle for check-up and operation.

Many of today's luxury bikes have a front disc brake, although most commuters also have front and rear drum style brakes. Both types of systems run distinctly, so a particular form of maintenance is required for both. So, here we have the tips to keep the braking mechanism fit and perfect.

brakes

Drum Brakes:

Drum Brakes are a kind of internal expanding brakes, the most common type of braking mechanism. There are two major components of the device that require a lot of attention: Brake Wire and Brake Shoe Liners.

1) We need to cut the braking wire from the wheel first, open the brake drum cover and pull out the brake shoes.

2) The next move is to carefully inspect for wear on the brake shoe liner. To measure the thickness of the brake liner, which should be at least more than 1mm, you should use a scale.

3) If the width of the lining is less than 1 mm, the worn brake shoes need to be replaced with a brand new pair. We suggest you to adjust them for improved braking efficiency, even if the thickness is less than 1.6 mm.

4) Generally, brake drums appear to collect dust and other foreign contaminants, which can decrease the effectiveness of braking. So, you've got to scrub it as well.

5) Now, close the brake drum carefully, assemble the rotor, attach the brake wire and verify the braking efficiency.

6) Using pressure exerted on the brake lever, you can check the wear on the brake cable. You will have to replace the brake wire if the lever is too close and takes more than average power.

Disc Brakes:

Since a powerful bike needs improved braking efficiency, it comes fitted with disc brakes that are a little difficult to manage. There are several sections, aside from the disc orientation, that can be operated and serviced by self-contained braking fluid and brake pads. So, here are the repair measures for the disc brakes.

1) For the correct level, evaluate the brake fluid in the tank.

2) Open the bottle, if found to be low, and top up the brake fluid to the correct level. Using a new pack of brake fluid at all times, as it continues to collect moisture over a period of time.

3) When filling up the brake fluid, be careful and do not let it spill on the body of the vehicle as it will damage the paint.
