HOW TO MAKE YOUR FURNITURE LAST LONGER?
"Prevent your furniture from early obsolence."
Who doesn't want a clean and classy living room decorated with beautiful furniture? And, who won't wish the vibe and beautiful furniture units to last a little longer, right? Our homes speak volumes about our lifestyles and personalities in entirety. Because of the thriving interior industry, we can now treat our homes with elegant furniture. Maintaining the furniture can be really hard work. And, if you are more of a careless person, your furniture units may not last a longer period of time. If you wish to keep your furniture units for a longer period of time, make sure to follow the following steps.
Move and place carefully
You need to take care of your furniture like a baby, especially while placing or moving it. Do not drag, pull, or push the furniture as it may damage the furniture and wither the woods at the bottom. If possible, do not move your furniture often, and even if you do, be careful not to harm your furniture.
Clean timely
You must clean your furniture often, to keep it free from bacteria as well as obsolescence. Make sure to use effective products that won't harm the furniture in any way. It's best to use steam vacuuming on old furniture to give them a new-like look. And, also, you can make your own home-made detergent or cleaning agent clean your furniture.
Slipcovers
Invest in slipcovers to cover your furniture. Especially for sofas, if they are covered properly, you won't have to worry about staining and ruining the inside cotton and fabrics of the sofa if you mistakenly spill noodles in it. Also, with different designs, colors, and patterns on the slipcovers, you can make your furniture look more attractive and beautiful.
Check for scratches
Scratches worsen along with time and won't go away on their own. If your furniture has any scratches, you can simply get rid of the scratches with masks and claw marks.
Paint and refurbish
Your furniture may be in its best condition but look dull and dingy. If this is the case with your furniture, you can paint, or varnish your furniture to give it a new look and make it more attractive and complementary to your room.
Avoid liquid spill
Well everyone may be familiar with the concept that- liquid spill damages your furniture. If you are not, then you should be acknowledged with this. Always be careful with liquids around your furniture. If it's water-proof, then you may easily wipe it off. However, if it is a spongy cushion with cotton cover, then too sad- you got to get yourself a new one. Moreover, use coasters while you place the beverages or glass on your furniture to avoid the liquid stain of the glass.
Avoid direct sunlight
As a cigarette is to lungs, and chemicals are to land- sunlight is to furniture. Furniture's condition worsens if placed in direct contact with the sun. So, it's best to place your furniture in the shade or cover them up with slips and quilts, if sunlight cannot be avoided. Just keep in mind that furniture is vulnerable to sunlight and try to prevent the furniture from sunlight.
Do not place hot dishwares directly
Placing hot dishware in your dinings may ruin the furniture. Hot dishware is powerful enough to damage a cemented slab- so, try to avoid direct contact of hot dishwares with the furniture.
