Online application system for driving license suspended due to second wave of Covid-19
"DoTM had brought a new arrangement to end the bigotry of middlemen in the online application."
The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has suspended the online application registration for a driving license due to the second wave of the coronavirus.
Issuing a public notice on Tuesday, the department shared that the online registration of new applications for the driving license will be suspended until further notice effective from Thursday (April 29).
“We’d like to apologize for the inconvenience caused,” wrote Loknath Bhusal, spokesperson for the department.
DoTM had brought a new arrangement to end the bigotry of middlemen in the online application.
The department brought a new arrangement saying that there is a problem when ordinary service recipients try to apply online as the middlemen take money from the customers and upload several forms at once.
According to the department, with the implementation of this policy, it will be possible to apply for a license only once a day from a computer, laptop or mobile.
Displays a notification saying 'Use another machine' if you try to apply for more than one application from one device.
According to Gagan Bahadur Hamal, director-general of the department, such arrangements have to be made as brokers have been applying for licenses online for a long time.
He said that the move was taken after a complaint was lodged with the department saying that there was a problem with the server as the middleman was loading many applications on the website at the same time.
