Advantages and Disadvantages of Gaming Laptops, you need to know?

8th January 2021
"The benefits and drawbacks, so that the disparity between the poor laptop and the good gaming laptop can be quickly found."

With various features and configurations, there are several gaming laptops available on the market. Some of them are either decent or some of them are poor. But how can you find that if you have no knowledge of the requirements? See, it's clear that we all want a decent laptop for gaming at a reasonable cost. So for this, you just need to hear about the benefits and drawbacks, so that the disparity between the poor laptop and the good gaming laptop can be quickly found.

Because of its great and advanced features such as speed, compatibility, size, etc., even people who do not want to play games on a gaming laptop like these laptops.

Gaming Laptops Advantages

1. Portability

In terms of portability, it is very convenient to hold and bring in some areas, but in the case of weight, this is not so. If you go to work, it's often mandatory to take your laptop with you. At this time, the best laptop for gaming shows itself. You can only take your college bag and really quickly bring the laptop.

2. Speed

Speed So the Gaming Laptops are designed to hold the quickest operating system, high graphics, and other advanced features since gaming is the primary objective of designing the laptops.

Many labels are present on the market. You can buy the best Gaming Laptop brand from which you can not face the problem of slow processing and operating system if you choose to use the Gaming Laptop for more speed.

3. Less consumption of power

As there are many laptops that use more power when charging, power usage is also the key point of concern. Due to the charging issue, the impression of the standard laptop is a little lower than gaming laptops. Compared to gaming laptops, the charger of the regular laptop gets exhausted easily when it adheres to the outlet or socket. If we take into account the battery life of a gaming laptop, so it will last longer than regular laptops.

It is also true that the battery's lifespan and life depend on its specifications and usability as well.

Disadvantages of Gaming Laptops

1. No Upgrade

The biggest demerit of gaming laptops is that your laptop will not be updated. The processing device and functionality were periodically updated. Suppose you bought a gaming laptop with the newest operating system and features, but you will not update the gaming laptop until the new edition arrives.

If you want to use the newest features, you need to buy the new laptop again and the cost of the old laptop will be absolutely lost. Non-upgraded units are Gaming Notebooks.

2. Pricey

Laptops for games are much more pricey than standard laptops. It involves several modern and innovative features and, for this reason, the cost of these laptop styles is very high. For the same price as one gaming laptop, you can get two regular laptops. If you wish to purchase a gaming laptop, you can only spend twice the price of a regular laptop.

3. Bulky

Gaming Laptops are very portable in the benefits section, but the weight is heavy relative to standard laptops. So, because of its weight, it is sometimes not very easy to bear. Gaming laptops weigh a little bit heavier relative to standard laptops. They usually come with 2 options for hard disks.

One is an SSD and the second one is a conventional hard drive for backup. A decent dedicated graphics card is also bundled with a gaming laptop, which is an external peripheral that we find in standard laptops.

The scale and weight of the laptops really matter a lot because in public spaces it is very convenient to bring and wear.

Which Gadget is Best Suitable for Online Education? Smartphone, Tablet or Laptop?

27th August 2020
"Smartphone, tablet or laptop ? Which one will you prefer for online learning?"

As the world is affected by the novel Coronavirus Pandemic, the teaching-learning process has shifted to online or digital approach. From elementary-level to university-level, all the classes are being conducted online throughout the world. Consequently, parents are concerned about the gadgets that could help their kids in digital learning.

People, generally, use a Smartphone, tablet or laptop for online education. Considering different factors like availability, health aspects, budget, screen, class-time, etc. the suitability of a gadget for online education differs from person to person and their age-group.

Here, we present you the device or gadget that could be efficient and suitable for you or your kids.

Smartphone

The gadget possessed by a lot of people i.e. Smartphone is handy, portable and easy to use. It is best suitable for short classes with possibly less or no slide shows or whiteboards because the screen is too small to read the content and can strain your eyes. Being handy, children can easily use it and surf the net for homework as well. The battery part may also be another disadvantage if you have longer classes. And, I personally feel that it’s difficult to do and submit homework and assignments in a Smartphone. But, if you have a limited budget, go with smartphones because something is better than nothing.

Tablet

Tablet, with a relatively large screen, is the best device for children. It won't strain the eyes as one can easily read the contents in a slide show or whiteboards. As it is easy to use, the children can join the classes on-their-own and can also surf the internet for their homework conveniently. There are several budget-friendly tablets as well which don’t lack much in functions and features. The battery aspect differs with the brand but will not cause many problems. Tablets are suitable for higher class students with a limited budget as well.

Laptop

Laptop, in my opinion, is the best gadget for online education. From attending classes to completing assignments and projects easily, it is the best device for students (from mid-school and above) and teachers. Varieties of functions, larger screen size and longer battery life are the major advantages of using a laptop for online education. However, the budget aspect can be a disadvantage as most of the good laptops are above $400 or Nrs. 40,000.

Online education, superficially, seems to be a great substitute for traditional education approach and also a step closer towards a digital world. But, it has its own consequences as well; Increase in screen-time leads to an increase in health risk as well. So, it’s better if you try to reduce the screen-time as much as possible.

What are graphics cards in laptop?

3rd January 2021
"Make it smooth!"

A Graphics Card is a piece of hardware for the computer that creates the image you see on a screen. The Graphics Card is

responsible for rendering an image to your computer, which is achieved by translating data into a signal that can be interpreted by your monitor. The better the graphics card, the better, and it is possible to create a clearer image. For gamers and video editors, this is clearly really relevant.

graphics-card

Types of Graphic cards

  • Integrated - Built-in graphics on a motherboard where no add-in card is included. These are a cost-effective model, but cannot be quickly upgraded, installed into most 'normal' laptops and computers.

  • Discrete - An add-in graphics card that is installed onto the motherboard as an extra component.  Ideal for those wanting to modify their system by upgrading the graphics cards. Laptops have integrated a graphic card which means that discrete graphic cards can’t be used in a laptop.

Expansion Slots

If it was a pc then you can expand your graphic card but you can’t expand your graphics card on your laptop. Since the laptop contains Integrated graphics cards the expansion is really difficult. The user usually buys the laptop with the best graphics card built-in, in order to have the best fps while gaming or video rendering.

Gaming and Editing

Not only are graphics cards useful for gaming, but standalone graphics cards will also support users of the picture and video editing software greatly, as they can increase the speed at which photographs can be created and help users of high-def displays.

Manufacturers

There are two main manufacturers of discrete graphics cards, AMD and Nvidia -  Some users have allegiances to a particular brand but each will do the same job. AMD also produce some integrated graphics option as well as the current market leader- Intel. But intel graphics cards are the worst once. They cannot do any gaming or editing. Highly recommend buying a laptop with a graphics card of AMD or Nvidia since they give really high fps while gaming and fast rendering while video editing. AMD and Nvidia are two rival brands trying to make the best graphics card.

Ram configuration

Current graphics cards also contain RAM memory, which is a dedicated graphics ram, but it is separate from the RAM on your PC. The size of most modern graphics cards varies from 512 MB to 8 GB, with DDR3 and GDDR5 SDRAM being the most common formats.

For players, a minimum of 1GB of memory is recommended, although this has to be matched with other features of the card and the resolution at which a game is played.

Output Support

Since in laptop the graphics cards are already implemented in the motherboard there is no need for output support. But you are a computer enthusiast you can also input graphics cards through output options.

  • VGA (Video Graphics Array) - 15pin analog connection also known as D-Sub- This is the earliest video connector and so is the least efficient. VGA ports work well enough but other ports provide a better video quality.
  • HDMI HDMI is one of the more popular connections due to its speed and versatility. HDMI will carry both video and audio signals.
