It has somehow become a dream to eat something healthy, chemical-free, leafy, green vegetables for people living in city areas. Well, did you know your dream can come true? If you have a balcony, a terrace, a backyard, or even just a windowsill, you can have your own little garden where you can plant some vegetables and eat them fresh. 

 

Well, planting and harvesting vegetables are not as much of a hassle as it seems. Here's a list of a few of the fastest-growing nutritious vegetables that you can easily grow in your own little garden

Spinach

Spinach is good for your overall health and is also one of the fastest-growing vegetables. It takes about 4-6 weeks to grow spinach. You just need to sow the seeds into good quality soil, water it timely, and wait. 

Baby carrots

Baby carrots are delicious, nutritious to eat as a snack, and grows much faster as they don't have to grow as big as the normal carrots. You can sow them either in-ground or in a container just make sure to sow them in good quality soil. They'll harvest in about a month. 

Radish

Radishes are the fastest and simplest plant to grow. Sow the seeds in good quality soil and they'll harvest in about 22-50 days. Then, you'll have fresh radish that will make delicious salads and soups. 

Lettuce

If you want to grow something healthy, green, and fast, then you should go with lettuce. With its varieties in taste, you can grow different kinds of lettuce and have fun with your salad. Depending upon the variety, lettuce can take up to 30-60 days to harvest. 

Green onions

Green onions are really versatile plant. You can plant them as bulbs or you can plant green onion stalk. The bulb may take 6 months to grow while the stalks take only 3-4 weeks to grow.

There are numerous options for indoor plants. From plants entailed with constant care and attention to plants that require low maintenance, there are numerous options for indoor plants. However, not everyone is free to take care of the plants constantly. Here is the list of indoor plants that require low maintenance.

Let the soil dry in between the waterings. Aloe can be watered once in 2 to 3 weeks, depending upon the humidity of your room.

Indoor Plants that grow from stem cuttings

Growing indoor plants bring joy to your room as well as your life. It is joyful to grow and increase the number of your indoor plants and it's more joyful if you can propagate your plants by simply cutting off their stems with clean shears just below a node and plant it in a pot.

Few of the plants are easy to propagate by cutting off the stems. 

Pothos

Pothos care is easy to take care and it can be grown in water or in dry soil. Cuttings can be taken from a plant and rooted in water after the root starts to grow you can place it in mud to make it grow.

Tradescantia 

Tradescantia is also easy to propagate from stem cuttings. You can easily cut the stem and either put it in soil or in water, it will thrive beautifully. However, make sure not to dip the leaf in the water as it may cause algae in water.

Umbrella Plant is another best indoor plant for your living room. Cut the plat from below the node and plant it in soil and your plant will thrive within a month or so,

Rosemary 

Propagating rosemary from stem cuttings is one of the best ways of propagating the rosemary. Rosemary cuttings should be taken from the soft or new wood on the plant.

Philodendron 

Philodendron is one of the plants that can grow permanently in water. You can cut a small part of Philodendron and place it in water and shift it in a flowerpot or garden once the roots appear.

Take cuttings just below the nodes closest to the bottom of the stem. If a piece of prayer plant has broken off, dip the broken end into rooting hormone and place it in distilled water.
