Bad Household Habits to Stop Now

"Home is the place we live throughout our life and in order to make our environment healthy, our home should be kept clean and healthy."

Home is the place we live throughout our life and in order to make our environment healthy, our home should be kept clean and healthy.

We all have bad habits and among them in this article, we will talk about different types of household habits that should be stopped right now:

Rinsing food down the sink

Washing away excess food down the sink before doing the dishes is an easy habit to get into but this is a really bad habit that can clog up your drain and cause blockages.

Instead, scrape any leftover food into the bin before washing the dishes – it might be more time-consuming, but it’s better than dealing with the sink filled with foods.

Leaving dishes to soak in the sink

Dishes

We all have a habit of leaving dishes in the sink for a long time. Leaving dishes in there for too long can allow the bacteria to grow on those.

Bacteria that you will be consuming later on. So to avoid this you really need to stop this habit of leaving dishes in the sink for a long period of time.

Painting over rusty railings

Rust

Another habit we have is painting over the rust. If the railings in your garden or balcony are starting to rust, applying a fresh coat of paint directly over them won’t solve the problem.

This is because rust prevents new paint from taking hold, so you’ll need to scrape it off and start from scratch.

Not cleaning the TV remote

Remote

This one is all too easy to forget but when you think about the number of times your TV remote is touched every day, it makes sense to clean it every week or on alternative days.

All you need to do is remove the batteries, then use a cloth and rubbing alcohol to clean all over the remote. If there’s dirt wedged in the gaps around the buttons, use a toothpick to remove it.

Not wiping door handles

Door handles

When we clean our homes, we forget about the door handles. It is constantly used throughout the day and touched by every family member so it might carry harmful microbes.

It is obvious that diseases bacteria transfer from one person to another. You need to keep germs in check by remembering to disinfect your door handles at the end of every day.

Forgetting to clean stove knobs

This is the most neglected thing by us. We all need to keep in mind that the dials are regularly splattered with food and touched frequently between preparations.

So it is very necessary to give them a thorough clean. All you need to do is remove the knobs and wash them in hot soapy water.

Use Ornaments

Much more than an afterthought, garden ornaments can guide how you shape and use your outdoor space, and affect how it feels when you're in it.

A wrought-iron gate can mark the entrance to a world of green, a tree-hung lantern raises your perspective, a curved bench inspires a nap.

Upcycle some pieces

If you have some unusual items in your home look for ideas of things to make for the garden. You can upcycle some of them into some incredible planters.

In some cases, it's just a case of filling them with soil and adding some blooms.

Add pretty lighting

Solar lighting will give your garden a professional look, as well as extend your enjoyment by a few hours every day.

Choose staked lights that flick on as soon as the sun sets and you'll be blown away by the impact.

Let’s not forget that grey hair is a natural process that cannot be stopped but there are some possible ways to prevent the chances of getting grey hair at an early age or even less grey hair during your old age.

Here are some of the home remedies that might help:

Coconut oil:

Coconut

Coconut oil help darken the hair. All you need to do is mix lemon and coconut oil.

The combination of these two causes a chemical reaction that darkens the hair naturally over a period of time.

Alternatively, boil one cup of coconut oil. Add hibiscus leaves, almond oil, and methi powder to the mixture.

Cool and strain and keep it in a glass jar to apply at least 3-4 times a week.

Black tea

Black tea

Black Tea has caffeine which is loaded with anti-oxidants. While adding a natural dark hue to the hair, stimulates hair growth and strengthens it giving it a shine.

Treating your hair to a black tea rinse will not only help you get rid of grey hair naturally but also leave your hair looking shinier than before.

Make one cup of black tea without adding milk to it and add one tablespoon of salt to this mixture.

Now massage the lukewarm tea on your head, making sure that your hair roots are nicely nourished.

Let the mixture stay on your hair for at least half an hour, before washing your hair thoroughly with a good quality shampoo.

Almond oil and lemon juice

Almond

Almond oil has Vitamin E which is extremely beneficial for hair. It nourishes the roots and prevents premature greying.

Lemon juice not only adds gloss and volume to hair but also promotes healthy hair growth.

Mix almond oil and lemon juice in the ratio of 2:3. Massage well in the scalp and hair. Wash off after 30 minutes.

Amla Powder

Amla

Amla is a rich source of Vitamin C and has been used in Ayurveda for all kinds of hair problems.

Moreover, Amla is an excellent remedy for grey hair when mixed in coconut oil and applied to your scalp on a regular basis.
