Hyundai Alcazar launch in India on June 18,

11th June 2021
"The Hyundai Alcazar will join the Hyundai Venue, Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Tucson, and Hyundai Kona EV in the automaker's SUV lineup"

Hyundai Motor India will finally debut its new six/seven-seater SUV, Alcazar, in the country on June 18 after a lengthy delay caused by the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Bookings for the Hyundai Alcazar have already begun at the automaker's dealerships and online car-buying platform, Click to Buy, for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000.

Features

The Alcazar, based on the hugely popular Creta, exemplifies Hyundai's global design language of 'Sensuous Sportiness.' The grille on the Alcazar has been redesigned. While its headlight configuration is similar to that of the Creta, the fog lamps have been modified slightly. The SUV rides on new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

It also includes side foot steps. To accommodate the third row of seats, the rear overhang is longer than that of the Creta. To boost the style factor, the LED tail lamps have been restyled, and a twin-tip exhaust has been installed.

The interiors of the Hyundai Alcazar are dual-tone Cognac Brown. A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, eight-way power-adjustable driver seat, Bose sound system with eight speakers, air purifier with AQI display, 64-color ambient lighting system, and voice-enabled panoramic sunroof are among the notable premium features inside the cabin.

The Alcazar, like other new Hyundai vehicles, will be a connected vehicle featuring Blue Link communication technology. Comfort creatures such as a sliding sunvisor and a rear window sunshade are also available.

Seating

Customers can choose between a six-seater and a seven-seater arrangement. The Hyundai Alcazar six-seater has captain seats in the middle row, while the seven-seater has a bench seat with a 60:40 split in the middle row. Hyundai claims the Alcazar offers the greatest middle row one-touch tip and tumble chairs in the segment for accessing the third row.

Specifications

The Hyundai Alcazar is available with two engines: a third-generation Nu 2.0-litre petrol and a U2 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol engine generates 159PS of peak power and 191Nm of peak torque, while the diesel engine generates 115PS of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque. Both engines are available with 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT torque converters. The Hyundai Alcazar mpg is said to be the best in the segment for both petrol and diesel engines. The SUV has three drive modes (Comfort, Eco, and Sport) and as many traction control modes as there are traction control modes (snow, sand and mud). The SUV features a segment-leading wheelbase of 2,760mm.

Competitors

The Hyundai Alcazar will join the Hyundai Venue, Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Tucson, and Hyundai Kona EV in the automaker's SUV lineup. It will compete with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV500.

Price

The Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be priced in India between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Alcazar Ready For Its Global Debut - Reviews

5th April 2021
"The Korean automaker has also shown off the camouflaged Hyundai Alcazar in a trailer video"

Hyundai Motor India has announced the completion of durability tests on its upcoming 7 Seater Premium SUV – Hyundai Alcazar, which has been wrapped in a unique castle-themed camouflage. The Alcazar will make its world premiere on April 6, 2021.

The Korean automaker has also shown off the camouflaged Hyundai Alcazar in a trailer video, which shows off a bold and dynamic C-Pillar, LED Headlamps, and Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels.

Hyundai Alcazar Ready For Its Global Debut

The teaser video shows that the Alcazar SUV will share much of its styling with the Creta. Except for the new grille, the Alcazar resembles the Creta until the C-pillar. However, it is the rear section that distinguishes it from the Creta.

The Alcazar has a longer rear overhang and a thicker C-pillar. It also has a prominent waistline that runs the length of the vehicle, with noticeable creases above the wheel arches. The Alcazar will also get a unique tailgate design with much wider wraparound taillamps and a slightly taller bumper with a prominent faux skid plate.

Hyundai Alcazar Ready For Its Global Debut

The Alcazar will be offered with the same engine options as the Hyundai Creta, and will most likely be tuned in the same manner. The SUV would be offered with two gasoline engines and one diesel engine. The 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine produces 138 bhp and 242 Nm and is paired with a seven-speed DCT as standard. The 1.5-litre petrol engine, on the other hand, produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm and comes with either a manual or an IVT automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 113 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque. This engine is paired with a manual transmission, but it is also available with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Alcazar will be the company's first three-row SUV in a long time. It will secure Hyundai's entry into the mid-size three-row SUV market, which has recently become more exciting with models like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, XUV500, and VW Tiguan Allspace.

Hyundai Alcazar Is Not Just an Elongated Creta

12th April 2021
"The Alcazar is a three-row version of the second-generation Creta, which means it will share many of the same components, platform, and powertrains as the five-seat SUV"

You'd be mistaken if you thought Alcazar was just a longer version of Creta. Hyundai is aggressively entering the 7-seater market. The Alcazar is a three-row version of the second-generation Creta, which means it will share many of the same components, platform, and powertrains as the five-seat SUV. Despite the fact that both SUVs appear to be very similar on the outside and inside.

The Hyundai Alcazar, on the other hand, will have a range of unique features, and the carmaker has made minor tweaks to distinguish it from its mainstream 5-seater sibling.

Interior

The interior of the Alcazar would be distinct from that of the Creta. Captain seats will be available in the middle row of the Alcazar SUV in 6- and 7-seater configurations. A bench seat would be installed in the middle row of the 7-seater edition. In the middle row, there are two captain chairs, each with its own dedicated center console. It appears to be anchored to the floor and may have cup holders.

According to reports, it will also include wireless charging systems for captain seat passengers. Since the interior design is the same as the Creta. The Creta differs from the Creta in terms of upholstery and chain form. A dual-tone interior with a black and dark brown cabin theme will be available only on the top-end models. The Hyundai Alcazar will come with all the bells and whistles, including a 360-degree view, which is an improvement over the Hyundai Creta. The Hyundai Creta only comes with a reverse parking camera as standard equipment.

Exterior

From the front, the basic design is similar to the Creta. It does, however, get a new cascading grille from Hyundai. There are several individual chrome pieces inside the grille. On the edges, it has a chrome surround that suits Creta's headlamps. The Alcazar's front fascia appears to be higher-quality than the Creta's. The rear tail lamp design differs from that of the Creta. The tail lamps on the Creta have a C-shaped LED running light, while the Alcazar's are much larger and have a different running light arrangement. The LED strip is mounted in the lower surround of the taillights. At the back, we have a brand new tailgate that is more vertical.

The glass on the Creta was raked, while the glass on the Creta was steeply angled. A chrome slat connects the LED taillights. The word "Alcazar" is spelled out on the same chrome slat, and rear fog lamps are located in the lower half of the bumper.

Engine

The Hyundai Alcazar will use the same 1.5-liter diesel engine that powers the Hyundai Creta. A 2.0-litre petrol engine with 159 PS and 192 Nm of power and torque will also be available. The Hyundai Tucson makes use of the same power plant. The diesel engine is the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged unit that powers the Creta, with 115hp and 250Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission is available for both engines.

Hyundai Alcazar Launch in India Pushed to June 2021

24th May 2021
"The Creta-based 7-seat SUV Hyundai Alcazar's launch has been pushed back by a month due to the ongoing COVID-19-related lockdown restrictions in most Indian states"

The Creta-based 7-seat SUV Hyundai Alcazar's launch has been pushed back by a month due to the ongoing COVID-19-related lockdown restrictions in most Indian states. The three-row SUV is built on the same platform as the Creta, but it has a longer wheelbase of 2760mm, which is 150mm longer.

The Hyundai Alcazar shares a lot of styling cues with the Creta up front.

The Alcazar will also get a unique tailgate design with much wider wraparound tail lamps, as well as a slightly taller bumper with a prominent faux skid plate.

The Alcazar will be available in both 6-seat (with captain's seats in the second row) and 7-seat configurations.

The Alcazar features a first-in-segment rear 2nd-row console armrest for a premium feel and enhanced comfort, as well as best-in-segment Wheelbase and Sliding seats with seats designed for superior thigh and lateral support. The Alcazar will be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Hyundai's connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and much more.

The Alcazar will be offered with both gasoline and diesel engines. The 2.0-liter gasoline engine produces 159 horsepower and 192 Newton-meters of torque. Similarly, the diesel engine is the same 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged Creta unit that produces 115hp and 250Nm in the Creta. Both engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
