NOC Proposal to limit 5 liters to two-wheelers, 20 liters to four-wheelers

5th July 2022
"NOC has been bearing huge losses in the sales of petroleum products, proposed that the two-wheelers be provided only up to 5 liters and 20 liters for four-wheelers at a time."

The Corporation, which has been bearing huge losses in the sales of petroleum products, proposed that the two-wheelers be provided only up to 5 liters and 20 liters for four-wheelers at a time.

The Nepal Oil Corporation has made some proposals on ways to reduce consumption of petroleum products. Accordingly, it has proposed a quota system in fuel to be provided to two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

The Corporation, which has been bearing huge losses in the sales of petroleum products, proposed quota at a time for bikes and cars.

Furthermore, the state-owned corporation, also proposed that the vehicles ply on the road on the basis of odd and even number plate except for those relating to essential services and public services.

Another proposal is to announce vehicle-free public holiday every Saturday in major cities, according to Corporation's spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyay.

Proposals also include installing charging stations in the national highways and providing charge facility for major cities for electric vehicles (EV) for free of cost to promote usage of EV.

Determining suitable space for parking and for providing free charging facilities for both private and public electric vehicles is also one of the proposals put forward by the Corporation to cut down of the increasing utility of petroleum products.

The Corporations calls for encouraging walking on short route instead of using vehicles for brief travels and operating vehicles used for ferrying goods in optimal capacity of the vehicles among others.

How to maximize scooter's fuel efficiency?

18th January 2021
"Save fuel, save money!"

Scooters are the most effective tool, perhaps. Other than transporting passengers, due to the availability of large floorboards and some under-seat storage, it can hold a ton of stuff. For anyone, these aspects make scooters the most realistic purchase. But because each family member will use the scooter, it runs quite a lot during the year, which may add to a costly fuel bill. So by using the scooter as effectively as possible, the easiest way to get down the annual fuel bill is. So we'll give you some advice to improve your scooter's fuel economy here.

scooter

Accelerator

The CVT  gearbox is very sensitive to the manner in which the throttle is used. The CVT operates at its optimal level with gentle and linear throttle inputs, which directly contributes to improved fuel efficiency. The ideal eco mode indicator on the instrument cluster is given by most scooters in the world. Typically, between 40kmph and 50kmph, this indicator can be observed. To get the highest fuel quality, it's best to fly between these accelerations.

Tyre Pressure

Each time you go for a fill-up, make a habit of testing the tire pressure. Most of us prefer to disregard the tires, but one of the motorcycle's most important elements in this. A cycle riding on lower-pressure tyres appears to be less fuel-efficient. The contact patch of the tyres is improved by low air pressure and that ensures that the engine has to work harder to get the required traction. This step contributes to reduced mileage. Even, never inflate the tires in excess. The average ride experience would be bouncy if you do so.

Fuel wastage

Sure, everyone hates standing in lengthy road queues or traffic signals. Yet we leave the engine going most of the time and that results in needless fuel wastage. If the traffic timer indicates more than 30 seconds for it to turn green, it's still easier to shut off the bike. For heavy traffic scenarios, the same holds. If you are caught in a bad traffic jam, try switching the ignition off.

Habits of riding

There would be a dramatic change in fuel economy due to a change in riding patterns. Don't use the brake levers when accelerating, for instance. Calculate the next movement for riding. Don't unnecessarily brake. The more you brake, the more you need to accelerate and the more power you use.

Fuel-efficient Driving Techniques For Car

2nd February 2022
"Driving more fuel-efficiently can save you cash each year, increase road safety, and extend the life of your car."

Driving more fuel-efficiently can save you cash each year, increase road safety, and extend the life of your car.

Reduce your vehicle's fuel usage by using these fuel-efficient driving techniques.

Accelerate gently

The harder you accelerate the more fuel you use. In the city, you may save fuel costs by slowly easing onto the accelerator pedal.

Take 5 seconds to accelerate your vehicle up to 20 km/h from a standstill to be as fuel-efficient as possible. Consider a dashboard with an open cup of coffee. Don't let it out!

Avoid idling your vehicle

Unless you're stuck in traffic, turn off your engine if you're stationary for more than 60 seconds.

Every 10 minutes, the average vehicle with a 3-liter engine wastes 300 milliliters (almost 1 cup) of fuel.

Use a manual transmission properly

Keep an eye on the tachometer, which displays engine speed. It can be used to determine when to shift a manual transmission for maximum fuel efficiency.

The more fuel the engine burns, the higher the rpm. So shift smoothly and swiftly in the lower speeds, then accelerate in the upper gears.

Avoid high speeds

Stick to the speed limit to save fuel costs! The most fuel-efficient speed for most vehicles, vans, pickup trucks, and SUVs is between 50 and 80 kilometers per hour. The faster a car travels above this speed limit, the more fuel it consumes.

A vehicle, for example, uses around 20% more fuel at 120 km/h than it does at 100 km/h. On a 25-kilometer trip, this increase in speed – and fuel consumption – would save you just two minutes.
