Redmi 8 is one of the budget smartphones by Xiaomi with the best features at its price. It was launched in Nepal by Xiaomi Nepal in November 2019.

Redmi 8 Overview

Redmi 8 has some significant changes in battery and design compared to its predecessor Redmi 7. It has a huge battery of 5000mAh along with 18W fast charging support.

Display and Design

Redmi 8 has a plastic build on the back and plastic frame. The glass on the front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.  The display of 6.22-inches and the resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels are the same as that of Redmi 7. It has 490 nits type Brightness as per its advertisement

Camera

Redmi 8 has a Dual-camera setup at the rear with a 12MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Likewise, it has an 8MP selfie camera at the top center of the phone housed in a waterdrop notch.

Performance and Battery

Redmi 8 is powered by Qualcomm SDM439 Snapdragon 439 chipset that runs on Android 9.0 OS. It has 2 variants of 4GB/64GB and 3GB/32GB; however, only the 4GB/64GB is currently available in Nepal.

Compared to its predecessor that only had a battery of 4000mAh, Redmi 8 has an upgraded massive battery of 5000mAh that supports 18W fast charging.
