Suzuki Hayabusa 2021 teased: Reveal on Feb 5

31st January 2021
"2021 Suzuki Hayabusa teased ahead of February 5 reveal."

The original 'Suzuki Hayabusa' superbike is having a new life and in a new clip offering a preview of the revised model, the 2021 model has just been announced by the Japanese bike manufacturer.

Once the new Bahrain Stage VI (BS6) specifications came into effect in April 2020, the bike was discontinued on the Indian market later last year. Suzuki India has already managed to empty the batch well before the new requirements, so by March 2020 all the units of the former model were sold.

Because of tightening pollution controls, Hayabusa was also discontinued from the global platform, but it is eventually making a comeback. Several patent filings in 2020 revealed that in a new avatar, Suzuki is preparing to get back the most famous superbike, and the company has not failed.

Updates on the twin analog clocks of the instrument console have been announced by the teaser, which now gets a small TFT screen between the analog dials. The instrument console also appears to look very old-school in spite of the redesign.

Multiple engine power settings, a fast shifter, and updated electronic suspension can also be included in other upgrades to the new Busa, as well as an extensive electronics package including an inertial measurement unit (IMU) that will power the cornering ABS and traction control system.

A revised version of the previous 1,340cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine will also be used in the model. At 9,500rpm and 155 Nm of peak torque at 7,200 rpm, the engine was known to pump out 197 bhp. It was famed for its dual existence, which made it what Busa is. In just 2.74 seconds, the previous generation jumped from 0 to 100kmph and was also capable of reaching a peak speed of 299kmph.
