Tesla Extends Supercharger Network in China to Mount Everest

Although not on the actual summit of the world's highest peak, the Tesla supercharger is the only EV charger this close to Mt. Everest.
According to a recent report, Tesla has established 11 new Supercharger stations throughout China, one of which is located in Tingri, Tibet, on the route from Chengdu or Xi'an all the way to Mt Everest's base camp. The Supercharger is located in the parking lot of the Roof of the World Hotel, at an elevation of nearly 4,300 meters. The small town is about 100 kilometers from Everest base camp. According to reports, the expansion efforts now make it easier for Tesla owners to travel longer distances in China's far reaches.
The new Supercharger stations can be found on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway along two routes. Both routes are more than 2,000 kilometers long.
Furthermore, this highway is regarded as one of the most difficult in the world, as well as the "longest high-altitude road in China." In China, Tesla now has over 700 Supercharger stations. When Tesla posted updates about its expansion efforts in the country in January, it stated that the network in the area had grown by a whopping 30% in less than a month and a half. Chengdu now has 32 charging stations at the start of the new route.
