Nepal's first Fiber Optics Internet (FTTH) by Vianet

18th March 2021
"Vianet’s FTTH internet Connection is affordable to all and provides reliable and consistent services to their clientele."

Vianet was the first ISP to introduce FTTH in Nepal. FTTH is the latest technology in communication in which data is transferred via light source and has an unlimited bandwidth capacity compared to other current technologies like ADSL and Coaxial Cable.

It uses optical fiber to provide all or part of the local loop used for last mile telecommunications. Fiber optic cables can carry much more data than copper cables, especially over long distances.

Vianet’s FTTH internet connection is affordable to all and provides reliable and consistent services to their clientele.

FiberNet for SoHo and corporate users and FiberHome for home users Vianet’s signature products. Let's look at the features of these products.

> FiberNet

  • 100% End to End Fiber Optics Internet Service

  • Dedicated Speed (No Sharing Ratio)

  • Dedicated Support team 24X7

  • Compatible with CCTV

  • Unlimited speeds for YouTube HD Video Streaming, Google, Akamai and Local Contents

  • Data Top-up feature

  • Uninterrupted Service during LOAD SHEDDING

> Fiber Home

  • 100% End-to-End Fiber Optics Internet

  • Dedicated Speeds ( No Sharing Ratio )

  • Unlimited Speeds for YouTube HD Video Streaming, Google, Akamai and Local Contents

  • Extra Data for quarterly and yearly subscriptions

  • FTTH cable absolutely FREE

  • Speed Boost and Data Control feature

  • Uninterrupted service during LOAD SHEDDING

Vianet’s service is currently available in 22 cities spread across 18 districts in Nepal. They are working on expanding their network coverage to more places in the future.

They have a total of 27 operation centers and 33 customer service centers. Last year they increased their FUP limit by up to 80%, so the new FUP quota for 25Mbps internet is 800 GB.

From the humble beginnings of dial-up internet to the advanced age FTTH Vianet has made through a long and virtuous journey.

Last year during the lockdown they increased their FUP limit by up to 80%. The new FUP quota for 25Mbps internet is 800 GB which compensated the high demand for fast internet for the Nepalis locked in their homes.

As the world is gradually moving towards the “Internet of Things” and “TV Anywhere“, Vianet has dedicated all their efforts to usher the Nepali community rapidly towards the exciting new digital age.
