Things to Consider while Buying a Projector | REVIEWS
"Bring big screens to your home!"
Projectors last a long time but finally, they need to be replaced, it simply doesn't fit, you want to find a new one, or it was robbed by anyone. As a display method in industry and commercial entertainment, as well as in some high-end home theater setups, video projectors have long been used. However, for most individuals, video projectors are becoming more accessible and inexpensive. Before you purchase the first video projector, check out some of these helpful tips on what to look for in a projector and projector buying guide.
Get the Right Throw Ratio
The aspect ratio of a projector refers to the ratio between its width and height. A 4:3 display, for instance, produces a more square image, where a 16:9 ratio produces an image that is more rectangular in shape.
The three most common aspect ratios of video projectors are 4:3 (XGA & SXGA), 16:10 (WXGA & WUXGA), and 16:9 (standard HDTV, 1080p).
Which one is most suitable for you? It depends on whether you are planning on projecting. Your best bet is to align the aspect ratio of your projector with that of your source, as usual.
Upgrade on the Resolution
Projectors usually come with set resolutions, meaning they can only output in one resolution regardless of the nature of the signal they receive. An example is here: an XGA (1024 x 768) projector that receives an HD (1920 x 1080) signal must shrink the data so that it outputs in the format of 1024 x 768.
The home theater projectors of today are available in various fixed resolutions, including XGA (1024 x 768), WXGA (1280 x 800), HD (1920 x 1080), and 4K every once in a while (4096 x 2160). The most famous format in HD.
Resolutions of the Home Theatre Screen
Prepared to do your home theater projector shopping? Start here,
XGA = Pixels 1024 x 768
WXGA = Pixels 1280 x 800
HD = Pixel 1920 x 1080
4K = resolution 4096 x 2160
HD projectors have about twice the resolution of XGA projectors, as you can see above, hence their superior picture quality.
Portability
Portability is critical in simplifying installation and configuration, not just in terms of traveling or traveling with your projector. To see the structure fits well, it also makes it easy to test out multiple screen sizes, lengths, and spaces. You can also hang a sheet on an outside wall (or garage door) in the summertime if your projector is compact and watch your own drive-in movies! It can be a wonderful opportunity to watch movies outdoors using a film projector.
Inputs
Ensure that the projector has the inputs that you require. These days, all video projectors have HDMI inputs, and most projectors have VGA or DVI inputs for computers as well.
If you have older source devices with composite, S-video, or part video outputs, however, you should note that many newer video projectors do not provide these options anymore or can only offer composite video inputs. This suggests that it is surely important to make sure that it has the links you need when shopping for a projector.
Lumens
Projector light is calculated in lumens. For home theater projectors where ambient light is taken into account, you'll need a minimum of 1500 lumens. A projector with a minimum of 2500 lumens is suitable for classrooms, meeting rooms, or rooms with glass.
LED or DLP os LCD
To produce an image, DLP (Digital Light Processing) utilizes a chip made of tiny microscopic mirrors and a rotating color wheel. DLP projectors provide sharp images, no filters required, improved response time, and 3D capabilities. There is a life cycle of over 20,000 hours of the LEDs in LED projectors. Projector LCD. While LCD projectors have a clearer picture and better image quality, DLP projectors are smaller, more compact, and more efficient. Micro-mirrors are used using DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology to project images onto a wide screen from a display.
