Things to Consider while Buying a Projector | REVIEWS

7th December 2020
"Bring big screens to your home!"

Projectors last a long time but finally, they need to be replaced, it simply doesn't fit, you want to find a new one, or it was robbed by anyone. As a display method in industry and commercial entertainment, as well as in some high-end home theater setups, video projectors have long been used. However, for most individuals, video projectors are becoming more accessible and inexpensive. Before you purchase the first video projector, check out some of these helpful tips on what to look for in a projector and projector buying guide.

Get the Right Throw Ratio

throw-ratio

The aspect ratio of a projector refers to the ratio between its width and height. A 4:3 display, for instance, produces a more square image, where a 16:9 ratio produces an image that is more rectangular in shape.

The three most common aspect ratios of video projectors are 4:3 (XGA & SXGA), 16:10 (WXGA & WUXGA), and 16:9 (standard HDTV, 1080p).

Which one is most suitable for you? It depends on whether you are planning on projecting. Your best bet is to align the aspect ratio of your projector with that of your source, as usual.

Upgrade on the Resolution

projector-resolution

Projectors usually come with set resolutions, meaning they can only output in one resolution regardless of the nature of the signal they receive. An example is here: an XGA (1024 x 768) projector that receives an HD (1920 x 1080) signal must shrink the data so that it outputs in the format of 1024 x 768.

The home theater projectors of today are available in various fixed resolutions, including XGA (1024 x 768), WXGA (1280 x 800), HD (1920 x 1080), and 4K every once in a while (4096 x 2160). The most famous format in HD.

Resolutions of the Home Theatre Screen

Prepared to do your home theater projector shopping? Start here,

XGA = Pixels 1024 x 768

WXGA = Pixels 1280 x 800

HD = Pixel 1920 x 1080

4K = resolution 4096 x 2160

HD projectors have about twice the resolution of XGA projectors, as you can see above, hence their superior picture quality.

Portability

portability

Portability is critical in simplifying installation and configuration, not just in terms of traveling or traveling with your projector. To see the structure fits well, it also makes it easy to test out multiple screen sizes, lengths, and spaces. You can also hang a sheet on an outside wall (or garage door) in the summertime if your projector is compact and watch your own drive-in movies! It can be a wonderful opportunity to watch movies outdoors using a film projector.

Inputs

projector-input

Ensure that the projector has the inputs that you require. These days, all video projectors have HDMI inputs, and most projectors have VGA or DVI inputs for computers as well.

If you have older source devices with composite, S-video, or part video outputs, however, you should note that many newer video projectors do not provide these options anymore or can only offer composite video inputs. This suggests that it is surely important to make sure that it has the links you need when shopping for a projector.

Lumens

projector-lumens

Projector light is calculated in lumens. For home theater projectors where ambient light is taken into account, you'll need a minimum of 1500 lumens. A projector with a minimum of 2500 lumens is suitable for classrooms, meeting rooms, or rooms with glass.

LED or DLP os LCD

LED-vs-LCD-vs-DLP-Projectors

To produce an image, DLP (Digital Light Processing) utilizes a chip made of tiny microscopic mirrors and a rotating color wheel. DLP projectors provide sharp images, no filters required, improved response time, and 3D capabilities. There is a life cycle of over 20,000 hours of the LEDs in LED projectors. Projector LCD. While LCD projectors have a clearer picture and better image quality, DLP projectors are smaller, more compact, and more efficient. Micro-mirrors are used using DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology to project images onto a wide screen from a display.

5 Things to Consider while Buying Gaming Monitor

24th August 2020
"Planning to buy a gaming monitor but having problems with choosing one? We are here to ease your inconvenience."

Most of the people, while setting up a gaming PC, tend to prioritize the hardware and fill their computer case with expensive hardware. Besides the hardware, peripherals like keyboards and mouse are given more emphasis even though the average keyboard and mouse will do for most people. Monitors, on the other hand, are most important yet most bypassed part while setting up a gaming PC. What fun will it be if your display won’t have the specs that won’t augment your expensive hardware?

As the display or monitor shows your actions, moves, enemies and your entire game; it should obviously be considered cautiously while setting up a gaming PC. The things that should be considered while buying a Gaming monitor are:

Resolution

Resolution is the most important aspect to look for while buying a gaming monitor. Higher the resolution- higher the number of pixels, clearer the images and superior will be your gaming experience. The gaming monitors come in 3 resolutions- 1080p, 1440p and 2160p. Considering the hardware and GPU limitations 1440p can be regarded as the most suitable resolution for enhancing your gaming experience with inexpensive hardware. But, if you have advanced hardware and GPU, then you can go for 2160p resolution.

Refresh Rate

Refresh rate, simply, is the number of times the image or frame in your screen is refreshed within 1 second. A monitor with 60 Hz refresh rate will be able to refresh the image on the screen up to 60 times per second. Higher the refresh rate, smoother and less choppy images will be formed. Generally, for gaming purpose, the refresh rate should be at least 75Hz for smoother gameplay.

Response Time

Response time is the speed at which a single pixel on the screen can change its color. Lower the response time, better will be the gaming experience. If response time is higher, it will create ‘motion blur’ effect. For gaming, monitor with response time less than 8ms should be considered.

Panel Type

Basically, there are 3 different types of panels each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses- TN, VA and IPS. TN is the cheapest and offers the lowest response time though its visual quality and viewing angles are relatively not so impressive. VA panels offer best viewing angles and have the superior visual quality to TN panels; however, its response time is higher and is a bit pricey. Amongst all, IPS panels are regarded as best panels but most expensive. They have the best visual effects and contrast but have about 4ms response time which is higher than TN panel. If your budget supports, IPS panels are best for consideration or else, TN panels with their lowest response time will also do.

G-sync or Freesync

NVIDIA’s G-Sync and AMD’s Freesync are the technologies that aim to eliminate the screen tearing (a graphics distortion where multiple frames are displayed in a single screen draw that occurs when graphics processor is out of sync with the display). They help your monitor to refresh at a rate that matches your graphics card. However, you cannot use AMD’s Freesync technology with NVIDIA’s graphics card and NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology with AMD’s graphics card. Both technologies are good and you can choose among these relying upon your budget or the video card of your choice.

Things to consider while buying a TV

21st September 2020
"Buying TV is not a piece of cake, from size to contrast, everything should be thoroughly examined."

Do you want to enrich the look of your living room with a beautiful TV? Or, are you in need of one and don't have proper knowledge about TV and how to choose an appropriate one? If you are looking for basic knowledge or tips to consider while buying a TV, then keep on reading.

The trend of TV has been somehow decreasing due to the advancement of smartphones and the internet for the past decade. However, TV nowadays is as smart as smartphones with a bigger screen and better customer experience. Buying a Television for your home can be stressful with all the budget that one has to pour into it. Here, are few things to consider while buying a TV that'll cool your stress down.

Size

Bigger the size, the fancier the TV, and the better the user experience. However, one must not forget the capacity of the room. Measure the dimensions of the room and thoroughly examine the size of the TV that you require for your room. You might regret buying a 55-inches bigger, fancier TV if you have a small room of just 7-ft height and 8-ft length. So, select the size that is suitable for your room.

Viewing distance

Viewing distance, when put straightforward, is the distance from the TV that must be kept in order to prevent any kind of stress in your eyes. Normally, a distance of 4-ft is a must if you're buying a 32-inches LED TV. And, for TV with 40-48 inches, a viewing distance of at least 7-ft is a must. Likewise, for 55-inch or 65-inch LED TV, a 9-ft viewing distance is needed.

Resolution

For better viewing experience, the resolution should be considered. If you are looking TV for normal usage like for watching news once or twice a day, and are short on budget, then you can go for a 720p resolution. Nevertheless, if you have enough budget and use the TV for gaming, watching movies, Netflix, etc., then don't settle for less than 1080p i.e. FHD. If possible go for UHD, or else go after FHD.

Audio Output

TV must have a good screen with good visuals, but the audio output of the TV should also be checked. Budget TV may have a pleasing display but the audio output may be a disappointment. So, try to get a soundbar speaker to enrich your experience with better sound quality.

Connectivity Options

The more connectivity options better the experience. If you want to use the TV for other purposes like gaming, watching movies, etc., then look out for other connectivity options like HDMI, USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, and other AV ports. Also, the presence of Bluetooth connectivity will be an advantage.

Refresh Rate

Refresh rate means the number of times the picture on the screen gets refreshed within a second. The higher the refresh rate is smoother the video appears. Go for TV with a refresh rate between 60Hz to 120Hz.

Contrast

The contrast ratio describes the range of brightness levels your TV can display. Better the contrast, better the brightness levels. There are different ways of measuring the contrast ratio; so, check thoroughly while looking out for contrast.

Smart TV

Not all 'smart TV' is smart. Some smart TV offer variety of apps and features, whereas some lack in such apps. Better go after the Google-certified or android-certified Smart TV that offers a variety of features including play store, voice assistant, etc.

Things to consider while buying a Vacuum Cleaner

24th April 2022
"Are you planning to buy a vacuum cleaner? Don't forget to keep the given things in mind."

Be it for removing dirt and debris from your room or to keep your cars and leathers dust-free, vacuum cleaners are pretty useful and essential for leading a healthy life far from any kind of respiratory problems. The right vacuum cleaner can make a lot of difference.

Are you planning on buying a new vacuum cleaner? If yes, then do consider the given things while buying if you don't want to regret your decision.

considerations-while-buying-vacuum-cleaner

Place and its area

First and foremost, know the place that you vacuum most often. Whether it is for dusting off the dust in your car, or to vacuum your carpeted or wooden floor, you need to know the kind of place you want to vacuum first. And then, know the area of the place for the capacity of the vacuum

Type of vacuum

For various purposes regarding the place and functionality, there are different types of vacuum cleaners. You need to choose the right type from upright, stick, robotic, handheld, or any other vacuum on the basis of the place, area, and purpose of cleaning. If you want an effortless vacuum cleaner, then go for the recent technology of the robotic vacuum cleaner. Set the sensors and let the vacuum cleaner clean the place by itself effortlessly.

Features

Check the features of the vacuum cleaner as well. A vacuum cleaner with a motorized brush cleans the carpets better than just the suction. And one with the button to deactivate the brush will prevent the floor from scattering the debris everywhere. Likewise, go for the one in which you can choose the suction mode for delicate and harsh carpets.

Bagged or bagless

You can choose either based upon your convenience. With bagged vacuum cleaners, you can easily get rid of the collected debris without having any problem. The bagless vacuums are cheaper compared to the bagged vacuum cleaners. However, one may have to face problems while cleaning the filters and if you are allergic to dust and dirt, DO NOT GO FOR THE BAGLESS VACUUM CLEANERS.

Noise

How much noise can you stand? Every vacuum cleaner makes noise while in use. Bigger and more heavy-duty vacuum cleaners make more noise compared to the smaller ones. For home and office usage, the ones that make less noise with lesser capacity will be best. Many brands nowadays are redesigning their products for quieter operation.

Try it out

The best option is to try the vacuum cleaner before buying it. Then, you can know all their pros and cons/ suitability and unsuitability. Push, pull, turn, and lift the vacuum to make sure it is what you require. Do not settle for less.
