Tips on Maintaining and taking care of your Air Conditioner unit

6th October 2020
"Make sure to do servicing once a year and clean the unit once or twice a month."

Air Conditioners can be considered as lifesavers if you live in a really hot place be it the Middle East or the Terai of Nepal. To survive in such a hot climate you either need a fan or an AC. AC can be the best choice if you want cool air flowing all over your room kicking off the sweat without having any trouble shifting the fan as you shift. However, your wallet or bank account might have to lose some weight if you choose to go with an AC.

If you don't want to regret pouring your wealth in unsuitable AC, do some research on the things that one must keep in mind before buying an AC. After buying, if you do not clean the AC and its filter, fin, and ducts timely, allergens may settle in the duct and may pollute the air you breathe in. Besides, make sure to do servicing every year and clean the unit once or twice a month. So, proper maintenance of the AC is essential to make it last for a longer period. We present you with some tips on maintaining your Air conditioner.

Clean and replace the filters

The most important part of an AC that requires periodical maintenance is the filters. Cleaning and replacing the filters timely can ensure the increase in the lifespan of your AC as well as its efficient operation. Make sure to clean the filters once or twice a month for excellent efficiency. Dirt and debris may get collected in the filter and which when the air flows passes to the evaporator coil and damages the coil. Besides, the dirt collected in the filter may clog the airflow or may pollute the air you breathe as well. Thereupon, clean and replace the filters timely to avoid any sort of problems.

Clean the coils

No matter how much you take care of the filters, dirt may eventually get collected in the evaporator and condenser coils. The dirt collected in the coils may cover and insulate the coils resulting in the inefficiency of the coils to absorb the heat. So, clean the coils every year to avoid any sort of damage or inefficiency in the AC. Not just the coils of the indoor unit, check the coils of the outdoor units as well. Try to place the units in a place where they can avoid dirt and debris.

Timely cleaning of the indoor and outdoor units

It is essential to clean the entire unit from time-to-time to avoid the collection of dirt and debris in the unit. Also, try to keep the environment around the units clean as well.

Comb the Coil fins

The coil fins on the evaporator and condenser coils are easily bent which may result in blockage of airflow. So, make sure to comb the fins and straighten them gently by using a butter knife or a fin comb that are available in the wholesale markets. Make sure to comb the fins gently as they are pretty sensitive and can break or bend quite easily.

Winter preparation

During the winter, it's best if you either cover the unit or remove and store it in some convenient place so that it won't suffer further from dirt when it's not used. Also, if possible, cover the outdoor unit of the split AC to protect it from the dirt and debris in winters. It's best to cover the units with plywood rather than a tarp.

Hire a professional

In case of any form of serious damage or change in noise, hire the professionals immediately for repair, else your AC may either turn obsolete or may lead to expensive repairs in the future.

Try to avoid heat inside the house

Close the curtains and windows in order to avoid the heat and warmth inside your house or room. It can help to reduce the heat to some extent.

Know when to buy a new AC

Once your AC reaches to the point where any professional maintenance won't help it, don't push it any further and let it go. As the old AC may not function properly, they lead to several health-related inconveniences. Once you decide on buying a new AC, dispose of the unit properly, rather than just tossing it in the garbage bin.

Kitchen Cabinet & Drawer Organizers Idea

16th September 2020
"Always keep your kitchen organized."

Organizers have made our life and surrounding managed and tidy. Organizers, in simple words, are the compartments or containers made either of plastic, steel, glass, or wood to help us manage our clothes, utensils, accessories, makeup, and many more. Organizers help us to declutter the space. The kitchen organiser is highly recommended for efficient time management.

While talking about Kitchen, every house has several supplies (plates, bowls, spoons, pans, spatulas, etc.) and food, fruits, and ingredients that must be managed to keep the kitchen tidy.

Organizers for food

A pantry in every house is always a paradise with all the delicious foods and supplies in it. But managing that paradise could really be hard work. However, as the food containers and compartment dividers aka organizers became available to the market, the glory of the paradise complemented. With organizers we won’t have to dig out all the veggies to find a tomato; nor do we have to flip through every supply and vex searching for the snacks.

There are compartment dividers that help you divide the drawers or racks into the different compartment; so that, you can easily separate your potatoes, tomatoes, and other veggies or separate different sections for spices, tea, and coffee, honey, and many more.

On the other hand, you can get some food containers to store your chips separate from other snacks; your junk food from other healthy foods, and many more.

Organizers for kitchen supplies

Your pans, spoons, spatulas, and other supplies are worth being placed beautifully in their own compartments of the organizers. The culture of organizing the kitchen supply is not totally new as people used to traditionally store their plates on the wooden rack, hang the spatulas on the wall, and make towers while storing bowls and many more. But, talking about modern organizers, there are advanced dish racks, compartments allocated for different kind of supplies, etc

Dish racks are often seen in every household. They come with some holders for spatulas, plates, some compartments for spoons, and forks. Often dish racks are used to store the utensils and supplies after they’re washed up.

Tips for taking care of your washing machines | Reviews Nepal

27th September 2020
"Here are some quick tips to ensure that your washing machine is running efficiently."

The machine that has been replacing the tedious work with its efficient programs. However, washing machines can be quite complex to handle sometimes especially for the ones who're using it for the first time. So, the first suggestion is to go through the manual meticulously. And, for further guidance read further.

Location and positioning

The place designated for placing your washing machine should be thought profoundly. Make sure to place your washing machine at least 4 inches apart from the wall to prevent the hoses from bending or kinking. Likewise, make sure the level of the washing machine is stable as unstable washing machines vibrate, rock, or may even walk across the floor. And, as a result, the internals of the washing machine may be damaged.

Prevent odors

It is essential to prevent musty odors and mildew. For both top-load and front-load washing machines, leave the door open in between the loads to keep dry out the unit and keep it fresh smelling. And, for front-loading washing machines, wipe down the rubber seal of the door after completing your laundry.

Don't overload the machine

Most of us seek out ways to reduce our chores; however, this tendency may be harmful to your household appliances. As for the washing machines, do not overload your machine. Wash your clothes in small loads especially the heavy or bulky items, as they are harsh and can hinder the machine's efficiency.

Place a drip pan underneath

As the washing machines may drip water while washing and rinsing; so, if possible, place a drip pan underneath the machine to prevent your floor from tsunami or any sort of damage.

Clean and maintain the parts

It is prominent to clean the parts of the washing machine like hoses, rubber gasket, filters, detergent dispensers, drums, and all most every reachable part inside the washing machine. It is essential to clean the hoses and dispensers to prevent clogging, smokes, and mold and mildew issues.

Detergent

Most of the people ignore the fact that detergent affects the performance, efficiency, and durability of the washing machine. Choose the detergent as per the instructions. Not all detergents are made for washing machines and may result in impairment. Also, measure the detergent as instructed in the manual before pouring. Excess detergent or soap results in impairment of the washer and may also leave residue on your clothes.

Instant repairs

If you hear some unnatural noises, parts come loose, the general decline in washer's performance, or face some inconvenience, even a minor one, do not neglect it and contact the repairmen as soon as possible. Washing machines may face some obvious disturbances which if not repaired on time may lead to serious impairment and costly repairs.
