Vivo follows the footsteps of rival brands such as Xiaomi, Huawei, and Oppo, releasing its first foldable phone.

The device is called the X Fold 5G. Vivo’s foldable phone has an 8-inch AMOLED display that supports 2200x2480 pixels resolution at a pixel density of 414 PPI.

It comes powered by the latest octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.

The phone has been offered with a quad rear camera setup that includes 50MP sensor, 48MP sensor, 12MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. On the front, the phone has a 16MP wide selfie camera. 

Vivo X Fold 5G Details 

AMOLED Display, Design, Security 

Vivo X Fold comes with an 8-inch Super AMOLED display that provides 2200 x 2480 pixels resolution that translates into pixel density of 414 PPI. The phone’s screen features a foldable design and the selfie camera resides under the screen. The power button is on the right and volume rocker are placed on the right side of the phone. Vivo has offered face unlock that works through the front camera, and an on-screen fingerprint sensor, integrated under the display. 

Performance, Storage, Quad Camera 

Vivo X Fold gets powered with the latest octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset along with 12GB RAM. It offers 256GB internal storage but without a card slot. This foldable phone comes with Android 12 operating system out of the box. For imaging purpose, Vivo has added a quad rear camera that consists of a 50MP primary sensor, 48MP sensor, 12MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. While on the front also the phone comes with a 16MP camera built under the display. 

Battery, Fast Charging, Connectivity 

Vivo X Fold packs a 4600mAh battery which supports 80W fast charging via USB Type C interface which gives you 0 to 100% in quick time. For connectivity, the phone offers Wi-Fi 6, 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, VoLTE, GPS, A-GPS with GLONASS.

Vivo X Note 

Vivo X Note boasts a large 7-inch display with a golden aspect ratio of 21:10, excellent for productivity. vivo X Note is enhanced with superior security features such as remote SIM card lock, 3D Ultrasonic Large Fingerprint Sensor and Qualcomm Secure Processing Unit (SPU) chipset-level security protection to effectively guard user privacy and security.

Also, with dedicated mobile office features and the ZEISS Camera System, vivo X Note redefines large-screen business flagship smartphones by putting together business functionality, exceptional camera system, flagship performance and design embedded with traditional Chinese design elements. Additionally, it has an Ultrasonic Large Fingerprint Sensor featuring a fingerprint recognition area 11.1 times larger than single-point photoelectric fingerprint sensors, which leads to faster and more accurate unlock.

Powered by the flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with customized SPU and the company’s V1 imaging chip, the device reduces power consumption and has greatly improved visual capabilities, including photography and frame interpolation for gaming. Furthermore, it is equipped with the flagship Samsung GN1 Sensor to deliver additional excellent shooting experiences. 

Available in three colors, Mountain Blue, Earth Gray and Night Black, it ensures top flagship design and also leverages its large size to divide the weight of the whole machine, thus delivering refinement and high-quality feel.

First Flagship Tablet 

An upgrade from its predecessor, vivo Pad boasts flagship specs with a fully optimized operating system for large-screen products and features tailored for various user scenarios like office use and educational purposes to provide a more refined user experience.

It runs a fully-optimized Origin OS HD operating system and includes various application scenarios such as “sharing screens among multiple platforms”, “Origin Notes” and “children’s education” to optimize its performance to give users a convenient and professional experience.

Weighing only 489g and measuring 6.55mm in thickness, the device is sturdy and durable, perfect for users who are constantly on the go.

With an 11-inch 2.5K 120Hz ultra-vision display and four-channel large-amplitude ultra-linear speakers, vivo Pad is optimized for superb audiovisual experiences, gaming and entertainment.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 were launched on 11 Aug at the Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes as a successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a replacement of the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 both also come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection with a water-resistant IPX8 build that is made of Samsung's Armor Aluminum. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 also carries S Pen support — first in the company's foldable phone portfolio.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a 5nm octa-core SoC that has a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz. The company hasn't yet revealed the exact name of the SoC, though it is expected to be Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has 12GB of RAM as standard. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with 256GB and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 runs on Android 11 with One UI on top. It features a 7.6-inch primary QXGA+ (2,208x1,768 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 22.5:18 aspect ratio, and 374ppi pixel density.

The displays are the same in size when compared to those of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The cover screen on the new model has also been upgraded with up to a 120Hz refresh rate.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 carries a triple rear camera setup that seems to be the same that was available on the Galaxy Z Fold 2.a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens and optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 12-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens that has dual OIS support and delivers up to 2x optical zoom and HDR10+ recording.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 also comes with a 10-megapixel camera on its cover for selfies and video chats. It is paired with an f/2.2 lens that has a field-of-view of 80 degrees. Samsung has added S Pen support to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and designed two new S Pen models in collaboration with Wacom.

Battery

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is powered by a 4,400mAh dual-cell battery that supports both wireless and wired charging and enables reverse wireless charging. The battery also has 25W fast charging support through compatible chargers. The phone measures 67.1x158.2x16mm when folded and 128.1x158.2x6.4mm when unfolded. It weighs 271 grams, which is 11 grams lighter than Galaxy Z Fold 2's weight of 282 grams.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 price and availability

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 price has been set at Rs. 2,19,999 (12/256GB) variant and Rs. 2,29,999 (12/512GB). The phone is available for pre-order from September 05, 2021, and will officially be available from September 22. Galaxy Z Fold 3 can be pre-ordered from Samsung’s official Pre-Order website.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 runs on One UI, based on Android 11. It features a 6.7-inch primary full-HD+ (1,080x2,640 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 22:9 aspect ratio, and 425ppi pixel density.The phone also has a larger cover display of a 1.9-inch size that has 260x512 pixels resolution and 302ppi pixel density.

Samsung has provided a 5nm octa-core SoC on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 that has a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz. The SoC is paired with 8GB of RAM as standard. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor along with 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a dual rear camera setup that carries a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens and OIS, along with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. The phone also comes with a 10-megapixel selfie camera on top of its folding display, with an f/2.4 lens.

Battery

Samsung has provided a 3,300mAh dual-cell battery on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 that supports 15W fast charging and is compatible with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0. The phone also supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The weight of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is identical to the Galaxy Z Flip as both are 183 grams.
