Do’s and don’ts to prevent coronavirus

28th January 2022
"While we all have the habit of wearing masks and sanitizing regularly there are a few more general and exceptional precautions to be aware of."

There has been a panicked atmosphere among people since the Coronavirus outbreak. While we all have the habit of wearing masks and sanitizing regularly there are a few more general and exceptional precautions to be aware of.

So here are some basic do's and don'ts to keep you and those around you safe:

Do’s

Maintain Hygiene

The studies emphasized that Coronavirus can be killed with soap and water as the first line of defense.

Hands should be washed for at least 20 seconds as needed. Before meals, after using the restroom, after touching any surface that you suspect is contaminated, and so on.

Social Distancing

Maintaining a distance of at least 3 to 6 feet between yourself and other people is recommended.

If you are required to leave the house, this should be thoroughly practiced. Always remember to keep a safe distance from strangers.

Avoid Going Out

Because it is impossible to know who has been infected with the Coronavirus, it is best to stay at home and avoid transmission.

It has been discovered that a single person infected with COVID-19 can infect multiple people. Consider it an uncontrollable chain reaction.

Staying at home is the only way to break the chain.

Eat a Healthy Diet

When you are confined to your homes, you may begin to eat unhealthy foods.

This may be due to boredom. Instead, use the internet to find delicious and healthy recipes.

Vitamins, proteins, and healthy carbohydrates should all be included in your diet. Additionally, Ayurveda can help you improve your immunity.

Don’t

Do Not Eat Outside Food

Even though there is no direct link between outside food and Coronavirus, it is not advisable to consume it.

If you become ill, it will harm your health.

At a time when the Coronavirus is already at work, getting sick is not an option.

Don’t Skip Disinfection of the House

It's important to disinfect your living space regularly.

Consider using a disinfecting wipe or a mop dipped in a disinfectant solution to wipe down various surfaces.

Other precautions, such as the use of sanitizers, should also be taken.

Don’t Touch Open Surfaces in Public Places

With bare hands, one should avoid touching surfaces such as stair railings, elevator buttons, fruits or vegetables at a vendor's stall, shop counters, and so on.

Because so many people will come into contact with these surfaces, they may become contaminated.

Don’t Allow Children to Play Outside

Children may unknowingly come into contact with a Coronavirus-infected surface.

As a result, they must stay indoors to avoid a possible transmission. Engage them in their preferred pastimes.

Excessive screen time, on the other hand, could be a problem. Assist them in developing a new hobby in which they can invest time.

COVID-19 and it’s consequence of Lockdown has been a curse to many of the businesses. Our Team took interviews with various people belonging to all small, medium, and large businesses. Some people say that their business has been adversely affected, while some state that it is in loss, however, they would revive from it soon.

Interview with Ashoke Gurung, Overdrive Car Accessories

(Gurung is one of the car accessories businessmen who have been in this business for more than 18 years. He has a shop named Overdrive Car Accessories in Kuleshwor, Kathmandu)

 Ashoke Gurung, Overdrive Car Accessories

What is the post-COVID situation of Car Accessories Business in Nepal?

It has been 18 years since I am in this field. It was smooth and okay-ish until the COVID-19 and nationwide Lockdown hit the market hard. Now at this point of time, people are concerned about their health and survival more than any other thing. Car and car accessories are a luxury for the people residing in a country like Nepal. This lockdown, people are more into buying necessary items like rice, vegetables, and lentils and car accessories simply don’t fall in that category. Plus, the lockdown has forced us to get locked up in our homes and we can’t come to our shops and make even a handful of dealings. Thus, for small businesses like us, it is really difficult at this point of time.

How are you planning to run the business after the lockdown is over and what are the safety protocols?

We are planning to run the business by properly sanitizing our shop and all the equipment in the shop. We will maintain social distancing and ask all the employees to properly maintain the safety protocols by using masks, sanitizers, and wash hands before and after stepping outside the shop. We will do every possible step towards helping the nation not spread the CoronaVirus.

Stay tuned for more interviews.

Home Remedies to Ease Cough |Covid|

26th January 2022
"Coughing is quite natural."

Coughing is quite natural. A cough can help keep phlegm and other irritants out of your throat.

Sustained coughing, on the other hand, can be a sign of a number of medical issues, including Covid.

Here are a few home remedies to ease cough:

Honey tea

Honey has long been used to treat sore throats. It can also ease coughs more efficiently than OTC cough suppressants such as dextromethorphan (DM).

You may make your own home cure by combining up to 2 tablespoons of honey with herbal tea or warm water and lemon.

The honey relaxes, while the lemon juice helps with congestion. You may either consume the 2 tablespoons of honey by themselves or make a spread-over toast for a snack.

Peppermint

The healing properties of peppermint leaves are widely recognized. Menthol, which is found in peppermint, can help calm the throat and make breathing appear easier.

Drinking peppermint tea or breathing peppermint odors from a steam treatment can help.

To produce a steam treatment, add 7 or 8 drops of peppermint essential oil to a cup of freshly boiled water. Take deep breaths straight over the water while wearing a towel over your head.

Ginger

Ginger is a well-known traditional medicine. Ginger is commonly used to treat nausea and stomach upset, but it may also relieve coughing because it relaxes the airway muscles.

This might help with asthma symptoms such as coughing.

Ginger also contains anti-inflammatory chemicals that could help to relieve throat pain and swelling.

Ginger tea is the finest choice if you have a cough. The heated drink helps relieve throat discomfort, dryness, and mucous.

Slice a 1-inch section of fresh ginger root to create ginger tea. 1 cup water, boiled for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on how strong you want the tea.

Salt Water Gargle

While it may appear to be a simple cure, a salt and water gargle might help ease a sore throat that promotes coughing. Irritation can be relieved by combining 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 8 ounces of warm water.

Because children under the age of six are not very good at gargling, it is better to explore other therapies for this age range.
