Bike Riding Tips when you are travelling during extreme foggy winters

18th December 2020
"Trips in the winter are just incredible. The season however often brings unwelcome foggy conditions that are enough to make it tough for your trips."

Winter's the best time for long adventure rides that will encourage you to discover the less-traveled paths. For leather coats, boots, gloves, and plenty of good food, the nice weather and cold winds call. Trips in the winter are just incredible. The season however often brings unwelcome foggy conditions that are enough to make it tough for your trips.

As a motorbike rider, the biggest rule for fog conditions is don't ride. postpone your journey for when it clears. That's not always possible, however. So if you're trapped in fog or in a situation where you have to travel in it you'll need to brace for these challenges:

  • Loss of Rider Vision. Your perception of future risks, both ahead and from behind, i.e. the possibility of a faster-moving car being rear-ended, is extremely restricted.

  • Moisture buildup on the face mask or goggles of the helmet restricts the ability to see the road and locate dangers.

  • Some motorists' capacity to see you is much reduced.

  • Disorientation of the rider with the path and environment, and perceptual loss of the horizon. This will raise the risk of being lost, missed exits, corners being miscalculated, etc.

  • When you need to pause or switch to the roadside, roadside weakness is triggered.

  • Sudden whiteout effect caused by light-changing fog illumination density.

Riding Tactics in Fog

foggy

Speed: Speed is the first and foremost thing about any situation that needs to be taken care of when traveling before it is not needed or a specialist requirement. In the event of abrupt stopping, one needs to slow down the speed of one's motorcycle during the fog for better control. During foggy weather, motor braking works well.

Distance: When riding through the mist, one needs to sustain a sufficient distance. Maintaining the correct distance can prevent the collision from occurring by sudden braking by the driver ahead.

Visibility: The main aspect that needs to be taken care of when riding in rain or fog is visibility. The more noticeable you are the higher the odds of collision avoidance. The rider has to wear jackets with reflective fabrics to allow other motorists to spot him in order to be visible properly or turn on your emergency lights if you don’t have emergency lights then turn on the sidelight. Better safe than sorry:).

Riding on the left: on the left side of the lane, though keeping a certain distance from it, one must travel. You have ample room for yourself if someone wants to overpower you.

Clean Visor: On foggy days make sure you clean your visor before going on a trip. For improved vision, you should even add anti-fog agents to the visor.

Brake-Lights: Do not forget to hit the brake lights at frequent intervals so that your presence is alerted to the driver behind you.

Tank-up: Make sure you have enough fuel in the tank before beginning your trip in foggy weather. There are risks that you could bypass the gas stations on the road due to reduced visibility.

Don'ts in Fog

dont

  • Don't stop on the stretched portion of the lane. And if you run out of fuel or have a mechanical malfunction, automatically shift yourself to the side of the lane. From behind, you might be struck.

  • Don't immediately speed, even though the cloud appears to be breaking up. Suddenly, around the next bend, you might find yourself back in the fog.

  • Don't hurry up, it's too dangerous to overtake a vehicle going slowly drop back and build space.

  • Do not drive to get away from a car that drives too closely. Alternatively, signal, switch to the shoulder or off the road and enable the next vehicle to pass if possible.

Tips for long-lasting tyres

20th September 2020
"Tyres are sometimes the major expense of your car after fuel so ensure you get the full benefit of your investment."

Tyres are sometimes the major expense of your car after fuel so ensure you get the full benefit of your investment. It takes good maintenance and treatment to get the best out of your tyres. Once in 4-5 years, you will need a replacement. However, your tyre could easily be ripped down to shreds by the end of that time, if due care was not taken to it.

The following easy tips are not just a way to enhance your tyres' durability but also boost overall fuel economy, driving behavior and, perhaps significantly, your general safe driving.

Monthly check of tyre inflation

Too much-inflated tyres will unexpectedly bounce you around, poorly-inflated tyres cause you to lose handling characteristics and make your fuel expenses even more. What's even worse is that tyres that are significantly poorly-inflated can overheat and burst.

Look for the best pressure for your tyres, front and back. Don’t forget to check your tyres every month. You can even set a reminder if you have trouble remembering it.

Check your wheels for balance

When you get your tires rotated, you can also get your wheels balanced. And if you use a two-wheeler then need not do this, you can just do your tyre rotation. There's a heavy spot inside every tire and wheel. None of them is perfect, even though they are completely new. The gap is slight, estimated in 1 to 1⁄2 ounces. But vibration and uneven tire wear can be caused by that slight difference. Using a special device and small weights your technician can stabilize any wheel. As when the tire wears, the weight will need to be shifted or changed. It is a quick, easy cycle that costs far less than a new tire! Please ensure throughout rotation you have the balance of your tires tested and balanced.

To preserve the life of your tyres, you need to minimize the repetitive and sudden braking. Sudden acceleration also leads to reducing tire’s wear similarly. Standard tyres, not ideal for power slides or burnouts. Even if you are enticed by the scent of burnt rubber, stop any of those gimmicks on your tyres. They put undue pressure on the tyres, reducing life faster than expected.

Always carry out pre-travel examinations

Before any ride, this should be something you do. The tires should always be provided with a pre-trip examination of key structures for road preparation. Test the tyre pressure, check at the condition of the tyres, and be prepared to tackle troubles before hitting the roadway to mitigate the damage.

Don't forget to carry a spare tyre!

Heavy loads

Motorcycles are light and heavy, and people either slim or obese. We may raise the tension of the tyres to accommodate more weight (within the prescribed edges) understanding this factor. If we add a traveler and a load to it, we should apply further pressure to the prescribed maximum limit to sustain this big load.

Anyway, aim to make the bike as light as possible. The heavier the load is, the more the damage is, so we can obey guidelines like emptying the saddle bars and the top case or removing them if we don't need it. We may also decrease the weight of the unwanted stuff taken from other boxes and the storage of the under the seat.

TIPS TO HANDLE COLD STARTING OF BIKE | REVIEWS NEPAL

30th September 2020
"Its that time of the year!"

It is that time of the year when our riders are waiting for the monsoon to end. We can also say that it is riding the season of the year. For many, the serene pleasure of traveling in the cold is a delight but, to be honest, this has its own set of challenges that comes with it. Today, managing cold problems is something that every rider handles according to how relaxed they are. The mechanical difficulties that arise with the bike, on the other hand, are normal for all. So here's our detailed list to tackle the cold engine's threat, a quick start.

1. Try to kickstart

KICK-START

The unfortunate thing about this is that most new bikes are introduced without the possibility of a kick start. The part where the rider can not get his engine started because the battery juices are not up for it, as much as I admire the idea of reducing the rider's commitment to getting the bike running. Draining on the battery will get a bike started with electricity, particularly in cases of repeated failed attempts. A kick start comes in handy here. It is advised that the bike should be kick-started for optimal output at each interval of starting a bike, where the stopping time is over 6 hours. This assures battery and engine endurance as well. Too bad for bikes without a kick-starter, but this is your go-to choice for all the others.

2.Choke Supplying

CHOKE

For bikes with electronic fuel injection, this is not applicable. Make use of the small lever elsewhere on the bike for anyone else. Refer to the handbook you got with the bike at the time of delivery for the precise position depending on the model. Only pull the level to 'Up' and start the bike if you do not know how to use a choke. The bike will start or start quickly with normal revs and then change to high revs at idle. It is also advised not to hold the choke on while the bike is off and stationary, because fuel can flood the engine block.

3. Flow the fuel in the engine

Vehicles require liquids to work as a human body-their the most critical resource being petrol. It's not enough to get the bike running, particularly when it's cold, although most bikes have some fuel left over in the carburetor. For this, what you need to do is turn the gas knob from "Off" to "On" or "RES," which, if you are running low on gasoline, stands for reserve. Now, let the gasoline, which should not take longer than a few seconds, flow into the engine.

4. Moving the Motorcycle

MOVING

Both the liquids appear to pool at the bottom of the crankcase, making the top portion of the gears dry if a motorcycle has been sitting idle for a long time. It should be enough to drive the bike through your parking lot or your garage. This effectively helps the gears to be lubricated with oils and eliminates the likelihood that the bike will operate with the least amount of oil.

5. Ensure the motorcycle is in operating condition

You need to have lots of petrol and a battery that is well-charged. Keeping the motorcycle properly serviced, especially in damp or cold conditions, is crucial. Fit new spark plugs, or clean the old ones, if not worn, and void. Check the timing of the ignition and change it if necessary; replace the ignition points if installed. A carburetor and clean service is also a nice idea. If they look rusty, worn, or frayed, replace the spark plug leads.  Check for the guide in your motorcycle's handbook using only manufacturer-recommended spark plugs and plug leads.
