Reasons Why Your New Car Battery Is Dying Everytime

6th February 2022
"Your automobile battery could be drained for a variety of reasons."

Your automobile battery could be drained for a variety of reasons. You can seek assistance from local car upgrading companies.

Knowing what's causing the issue, on the other hand, can help you avoid a car breakdown.

Headlights On

When you get off work, the only thought on your mind is getting home and relaxing after a long day. So you forget to switch off your headlights or fully close the door before getting out of your car. You discover that your battery has died when you go to start the car in the morning.

That's because the battery charges all of your car's electronics once the engine is turned off.

Even a modest dome light can drain your battery, making it impossible for your car to start the next morning. A simple way to solve this problem is to make sure that your battery is charged.

Loose Battery Connections

Your car will not start if the battery is disconnected. The connectors on the batteries can come free at times, or the terminals can corrode. The engine will either entirely shut down or the battery will not fully transmit power as a result of this.

Tighten your connectors to address the problem. Corrosion-related issues, on the other hand, requires routine battery cleaning. This will ensure that your battery is fully charged.

Harsh Weather Conditions

Winters can be bitterly cold, and summers can be scorching hot, causing problems with your car's battery. Extreme temperature resistance is improved in new batteries.

However, even a brand-new battery can be damaged by excessive temperature changes. This will either deteriorate the overall performance or lead it to die.

Frequent Short Trips

While your engine is operating, the alternator charges the battery. However, if you regularly drive short distances, the alternator will not have enough time to properly charge the battery.

In the long run, this will lower the battery's lifespan. Longer journeys will allow the battery to charge to its maximum capacity.

Battery Is Not Charging

If your alternator isn't working properly, your battery won't be able to start your engine. An alternator is required to keep your battery charged.

Your alternator won't be able to adequately power your battery if it isn't working. You might be able to save money by replacing the diode, a tiny component of the alternator.

However, if the problem persists, you may need to replace your battery entirely.

Car tricks and tips

15th December 2021
"Here are some simple tips, tricks, best practices, and car hacks that will keep you safe wherever you go."

Here are some simple tips, tricks, best practices, and car hacks that will not only keep you safe wherever you go, but that can help improve the performance, fuel efficiency, and other attributes of your vehicle at the same time.

Clean Headlights with Toothpaste

Clean headlights will help you maintain a much safer drive, but it is often expensive or time-consuming to get the required chemicals to do this.

However, with proper creativity, toothpaste can go from cleaning your teeth to cleaning your headlights.

Using a rag and some water to rinse off afterward, simply scrub down your headlights with toothpaste and watch the grime come right off.

Use Clear Nail Polish to Repair Windshield Cracks

If a rock or any other thing takes a large chip out of your windshield, the initial damage may be minimal.

Soon, however, that chip can lead to long cracks that stretch across the entire surface. Professional windshield repair can be costly.

Those looking for a do-it-yourself windshield sealant will find a temporary solution in the cosmetics aisle.

Fingernail polish serves as a glue that can be used to help prevent cracks from spreading.

De-ice your windshield with vinegar

If you live in an area that has particularly bad winters, one situation that is unfortunately all too common involves ice in the worst possible places.

Sometimes you'll go out to your car in the morning and be greeted by a thick layer of ice on your windshield that your defroster just can't seem to handle on its own.

You may think that pouring hot water on it will instantly solve your problem, but that will only make it worse.

Instead, use a vinegar and water mixture to melt ice the efficient way.

Cover the Windshield during winter

In the summer, you may use a sunshade to prevent the smoldering sun from heating your car’s interior.

In the winter, you can do the same thing, except put a blanket, tarp, or plastic tablecloth over the outside of your windshield to protect it from snow and ice.

This also keeps your windshield wipers from sticking to the glass.

Signs Of A Dead Car Battery

4th February 2022
"When a battery is going to die, it normally gives us a few warning signs so you can get a replacement before you're stranded."

When a battery is going to die, it normally gives us a few warning signs so you can get a replacement before you're stranded.

There are a few warning signals that your vehicle's battery is on its way out (or has failed).

No Headlights Or Dim Headlights

If your headlights don't turn on at all, your car battery is most likely dead. If your car battery is failing, it’s not going to be able to fully power your vehicle’s electrical components – including your headlights.

If you notice that your headlights seem dim and weaker than usual, take note! Not only is the reduced light a safety issue.

Clicking sound when you start

When you turn the key in the ignition, your car battery sends a current to a component called the starting solenoid, which starts the engine. This function will be more difficult for a dying battery, and the electrical current provided to the starter will be weaker.

The clicking noise you're experiencing is caused by the starter receiving insufficient or diminished power from the battery.

Sluggish Cranking Times

Because battery performance is reduced in cold weather, it's typical for your engine to take longer to start.

If the temperature hasn't dropped and your engine still stutters before turning over, you may have a weak battery, a broken alternator, or a problem with the starter.

The Engine Starts But Then Dies Immediately

A car may start, but instead of idling, the engine promptly shuts down.

The battery's charge may be sufficient to turn the engine over in this instance.

The battery, on the other hand, fails, disrupting the signals supplied to the engine control module (ECM), and as a result, the engine dies.

No Door Chime Or Dome Lights

When you open the vehicle door, the door lights usually switch on.

Similarly, when the key is inserted into the ignition, a chime is frequently heard.

A dead car battery is a common issue when things don't perform as they should.
