The Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra are the latest Samsung premium smartphones that are commonly anticipated to launch this January, but we haven't had a single preview of them though.

Although we can't learn too much from these images, they make it perfectly clear what to anticipate from the layout of these phones, with three cameras on the S21 and S21 Plus and five cameras (including what seems to be a periscope zoom lens, see the square shape) on the S21 Ultra, a stylish, compact new camera bump that fits into the sides of the phone. The camera squircle is gone in this new phone.

Instead of the flat panels on the S21 and S21 Plus, your eagle eyes can also note that the S21 Ultra may have a curved screen, and the names of all three phones involve 5G, but hopefully, there will be no uncertainty as to which networks they support!

 In November, it was said we will be looking at 6.2-inch, 6.7-inch, and 6.8-inch tablets, respectively, each with 120Hz displays; Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 processors; and batteries of 4,000mAh, 4,800mAh, and 5,000mAh, respectively. However, at 1,600 nits, the S21 Ultra is expected to come with the brightest screen on a new smartphone yet. It will also have an adjustable refresh rate allegedly going all the way down to 1Hz, as well as S Pen stylus support (but no embedded slot), although this time around the normal S21 will have a plastic back instead of glass.

An upgraded 108MP camera sensor and two telephoto lenses, one at 3x optical and one at 10x optical, are also expected to be eligible for the Ultra, both with larger pixels to collect more light than prior zooms. But it is believed that the main camera and ultra-wide camera use the same 12MP sensors in the lineup.

The Galaxy S21 can even ship without a battery or earbuds in the package, according to filings at the regulatory agency in Brazil, which would be very rich, given how it made fun of Apple just a few months ago for doing the same.

Mysterious industry insider ‘Mr White’ has continued his impressive track record leaking Apple hardware, by revealing the chassis for the coming iPhone 12. While this confirms the range’s move to a more angular new design, he also confirms Face ID will be the same size and, as a consequence, the large notch introduced with the iPhone X in 2017 will not be getting any smaller in 2020.

Apple had been widely expected to shrink the notch for the iPhone 12 line-up and almost every render showed this would result in a significantly better design. Moreover, with recent leaks also revealing Apple will increase prices while also shrinking battery capacities, the company’s decision to stick with the same notch for the fourth successive generation may be a deal breaker for some potential upgraders.

That said, for notch haters, there is still some cause for optimism. While Mr White did not reveal which iPhone 12 model the chassis is from, it appears to be the new 5.4-inch entry level phone. So it is possible Apple does have plans to introduce a smaller notch with the more expensive iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Beyond this, however, there remain compelling reasons to upgrade. Most notably, all iPhone 12 models will come with 5G (albeit different versions), a multi-generational performance leap, a wider range of screen sizes and faster (potentially magnetic) charging. Pro models will also add some radical new camera tech.

All of which leaves users at a crossroads. At least with Apple officially delaying the iPhone 12 release and the possibility of a split launch increasing, you will have longer to make your mind up.

After the launch of Galaxy M31, Samsung has launch Galaxy M51 in December 15. Samsung had announced the launch of Galaxy M51 via Twitter handle with the hashtag #MeanestMonsterEver which refers to its monstrous battery of 7000mAh.

Design and Display

The new Galaxy M51 has a design similar to that of Galaxy M31. It has a plastic build on the back with a plastic frame that has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. There is a punch-hole cutout at the top center of the screen for the Selfie camera.

Galaxy M51 features a 6.7 inches FHD AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Camera

Galaxy M51 has a Quad camera setup at the rear. It has a 64MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5 MP macro sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. Likewise, there is a 32MP selfie camera at the front. 

Performance and Battery

Galaxy M51 is powered by Qualcomm SDM730 Snapdragon 730 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage. It runs on Android 10 with One UI 2.0 software. 

Likewise, the phone comprises a massive battery of 7000mAh which is the largest battery amongst all Samsung smartphones. The battery also has 25W fast charging support.

Samsung is ready to hit back at Apple’s new iPhones, and its next Galaxy flagship smartphone seems to be coming much sooner than anyone expected. 

SamMobile reports that Samsung is “fast-tracking Galaxy S21 production in a quite unprecedented manner and may even be ready to announce it before the end of the year.” The arrival of Samsung's 2021 flagship in 2020 would be a stunning move and shake up the mobile industry. It could also make a lot of buyers rethink their Christmas upgrade plans. 

Going into more detail, SamMobile explains that sources in Samsung’s home country of South Korea report mass production of key components begin next month. The motivation for this accelerated release is said to be a combination of poor sales of the company’s 2020 flagships and this low demand subsequently freeing up production lines, allowing Samsung to accelerate its plans. 

Needless to say, there is a critical difference between announcing a phone and when it goes on sale. So even if Samsung does announce the Galaxy S20’s successor (tentatively referred to as both the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S30), it may still not arrive until the new year. 

That said, from a commercial perspective, the circa-March launch of each annual Galaxy S flagship has always been strange. It not only means Samsung’s flagship is nine months old by the time the crucial Christmas period arrives, but it also gives each new generation of Apple iPhone a relatively uncontested first 5-6 months on sale. 

Furthermore, with the recently released Galaxy Note 20 being Samsung’s worst premium smartphone in years, now would be a very good time for the company to change things up.
