Infinix Note 8 and 8i have been launched by the company on October 15, 2020, via virtual event. The phones are successors to Infinix Note 7 and 7i. They both are powered by MediaTek Helio chipset and feature a quad-camera setup at the rear. Let's get to know more specs and features about these phones.

Infinix Note 8

Infinix Note 8 features a 6.95-inches HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1640 pixels. It has 480 nits typ brightness and the aspect ratio is 20.5:9. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. 

Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 chipset and coupled with the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It runs on the Android 10 OS. 

As for the camera, the Infinix Note 8 has a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 64MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and an AI lens. For the selfies, Infinix Note 8 features a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 16MP primary sensor and a secondary portrait sensor housed inside a cutout punch-hole. The Infinix Note 8 has a 5,200mAh battery with 18W fast charging support which is quite impressive.

Infinix Note 8i

Infinix Note 8i on the other hand has a relatively smaller display of 6.78 inches. The display has the same resolution as Note 8. The phone is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. As for the hardware, the chipset, RAM, and storage are the same as the Note 8. 

The camera, however, is slightly less impressive than the Note 8. It also has a Quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro lens, a 2MP depth lens, and an AI sensor. For the selfies, the Infinix Note 8i has an 8MP single shooter at the front housed inside the cutout punch hole. The phone has the same 5,200mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Most smartphone manufacturers have delayed their upcoming launch events due to coronavirus pandemic. Some brands that have gone ahead with their launch events. One such brand is Honor. On March 30, Honor announced its first mid-range smartphone with 5G is the Honor 30 series. The smartphone launched in Mainland China. Meanwhile, OnePlus has also confirmed that its upcoming OnePlus 8 series will go official on April 14.

Honor 30S specification

The Honor 30S phone equips with the latest Kirin 820 5G chipset, and it’s also the first Huawei/Honor phone to equip with a 64MP main camera. Talking about its display, which expands at 6.5-inch fullHD+ screen with hole-punch design. The side of the phone embeds power + fingerprint into one.

The power of this smartphone comes from 7nm processed Kirin 820 5G chipset. The GPU improves graphics performance by up to 38%  for the best gaming experience and new self-developed NPU kick in extra AI power of 70% compared to Kirin 810.

The Honor 30S runs the latest Magic UI 3.1 software system, supported by Huawei Share 4.0, Link Turbo network aggregation, and other AI-related software enhancements.

The camera of Honor 30S offers AI quad-camera comprising a 64MP main camera, 8MP telephoto camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. On the front side, it has a 16MP selfie camera support super night view for best selfies.

The rear side of the Honor 30S uses a new double-layer holographic pattern design with a 3D effect body, which changes according to the reflection of light.

The Honor 30S comes in four colors Night Black, White, Green, and Red.

After the introduction of the Infinix Note 7 previously, Infinix Note 7 Lite has launched in Nepal. It is a lite version of Infinix Note 7. Sadly, the phone has several downfalls and lackings compared to the Infinix Note 7.

Infinix Note 7 Lite Overview

Design and Display

As for the design, the Infinix Note 7 Lite has a basic design, unlike its predecessor. The camera quad-camera setup at the rear is different from its predecessor and is arranged at the left of the phone. At the front, Infinix Note 7 Lite has a 6.6 inches IPS LCD display which unlike its predecessor is not protected by any corning gorilla glass. The screen-to-body ratio is 82.8%. The phone has a punch hole cutout at the top left that houses the single shooter selfie camera. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Performance and Battery

The Infinix Note 7 Lite runs on the Android 10 OS and is powered by the Mediatek Helio P22 chipset. The performance one receives with the chipset at this price is somehow disappointing and cannot compete with the Realme C3 and Redmi 9 which are offered at the same price range. Infinix Note 7 Lite is coupled with 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage.

As for the battery, Infinix Note 7 Lite is packed with a huge 5000 mAh battery. The battery is huge though lacks the fast charging feature like its Note 7; and, one can get an in-box 10W charging charger which probably will charge the phone from 0 to 100% in 3 hours. 

Camera

Infinix Note 7 Lite has a Quad camera setup similar to its Note 7 at the rear. The arrangement of the camera, however, is completely different from the unique style of the Infinix Note 7. Infinix Note 7 Lite has a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro lens, a 2MP depth lens, and a QVGA sensor. At the front, Infinix Note 7 Lite has an 8MP AI selfie camera.
