Sunil Kumar Pokhrel has been appointed the new CEO of Civil Bank.

"Mr. Govind Gurung who took the position of Deputy Chief Executive from 21 Asoj 2069 B.S. was appointed the CEO of Civil Bank on 11 Shrawan 2074 B.S."

There have been some major alterations in the leadership of Civil Bank.

Current Deputy Chief Executive Sunil Kumar Pokhrel has been appointed the role of CEO of the bank.

Resignation by Mr. Govinda Gurung from the position of CEO has been approved by the board of directors in a meeting held on 5th of Baisakh to be implicated from 18th Baisakh. 

Mr. Govind Gurung who took the position of Deputy Chief Executive from 21 Asoj 2069 B.S. was appointed the CEO of Civil Bank on 11 Shrawan 2074 B.S.

Through the change management, the bank has increased the volume of business by making major improvements in institutional rites, functional rites, loan quality, and institutional structures, in recent years. 

When Mr. Govinda was appointed as the CEO, the bank's deposit amount was Rs 33,81,00,00,000, the loan amount was Rs 31,19,00,00,000, inactive loan ratio of 4.66%, and branch number was 51

Currently bank's deposit amount is Rs 87,89,00,00,000, loan amount is 81,44,00,00,000, inactive loan ratio is 1.70% and branch number reached 114

Unique Finance and Hama Merchant and Finance Merger also occurred in his tenure. 

Chairman of the bank Iccha Raj Tamang and the Board of directors have expressed their appreciation and respect for all the contributions by Mr. Govinda in his tenure. 

They also congratulated Mr. Govinda for becoming the first CEO of a foreign bank in Nepal and expressed good wishes for the future.

Civil Bank Auto Loan assists an individual in fulfilling their desire to own a dream vehicle by financing up to maximum of 50% of the vehicle.

  • Maximum Loan Amount of NPR 20,000,000 per vehicle.
  • Interest Rate - Competitive rate and charges (Up to 3%).

Used Vehicles
Financing up to 50% available for Used Vehicles (Private Vehicle) up to 5 years. However, the age of used vehicles should not be more than 10 years old from the date of manufacture at the time of loan maturity. 

Business/Commercial Vehicle Financing

  • Financing up to 80% of the Business/Commercial Vehicle.
  • Maximum Loan Tenure of 7 years for Business Vehicles and 5 Years for Black plated commercial Vehicles.
  • Interest Rate - Competitive rate and charges (Up to 5%).

Used Vehicles

Financing up to 70% available for Business Used Vehicles up to 4 years and financing up to 50% available for Used Commercial Vehicles. However, the age of used vehicles should not be more than 7 years old from the date of manufacture at the time of loan maturity.

Civil Bank’s extension counters now available in Taxpayer’s service office in Biratchowk

"The new extension counter was inaugurated by Biratnagar’s Internal Revenue Department head Mr. Bimal Sapkota."

Moving forward with the slogan of “Civil Bank for Prosperity”, Civil Bank has started a new extension counter in its branch of Sundaharaicha Municipality; ward no 9, Morang district. The new extension counter was inaugurated by Biratnagar’s Internal Revenue Department Head Mr. Bimal Sapkota.

Chamber of Commerce, Biratchowk Chairman Krishna Rijal, Taxpayer Service Office, Biratchowk Chief Netra Ghimire, Civil Bank Deposit and Transaction Banking Department head Bhola Bahadur Bista, Civil Bank State 1 Chief Rajesh Dhakal, and various political figures, industrialists, businessmen, and other distinguished personalities and general public were present in the inauguration ceremony. 

Now the clients from that area will be able to conveniently make tax payments to Nepal Government’s Ministry of Finance Internal Revenue Department from the said extension counter. 

Providing services to 5 lakhs customers from 114 branches, Civil Bank now has a total of 7 extension counters in operation 4 of which are there to collect Nepal government’s taxes and revenues. Also, 89 ATMs are in operation under the bank. Till now the bank has more than Rs 81 Billion operational deposits and has loaned out more than Rs. 74 Billion.

Civil Bank celebrating 'Global Money Week' with various financial awareness campaigns in all seven regions

"The bank will demonstrate various audiovisual contents that elaborate the advantages of different electronic transaction mediums in digital age"

With the tagline 'Civil Bank for Prosperity', Civil Bank is celebrating “Global Money Week” with various financial awareness programs.

According to the chronological order of the Nepali regions, the bank is honoring the Global Money Week as following:

Chaitra 9th: Region 1; financial awareness program in Orchid College, Biratnagar and initiation of payment system through QR Codes for Tempos of Birtamod.

Chaitra 10th: Region 2; financial awareness program in Janakpur, and initiation of payment system through QR Codes for the retailers.

Chaitra 11th: Financial awareness program in Dhulikhel and Banepa of Bagmati Pradesh and initiation of payment system through QR Codes for Tempos of Hetauda.

Chaitra 12th: Financial awareness program for Boaters association of Begnas Lake of Gandaki region.

Chaitra 13th: Financial awareness programs in Butwal, Manigram and Tulsipur of Lumbini region.

Chaitra 14th: Financial awareness program in Birendranagar Surkhet of Karnali region

Chaitra 15th: Financial awareness programs in Dhangadhi, Janaki, Aadarsh, Bannigadh, Lamkichuha and Bhajni of Central Western region.

The bank will demonstrate various audiovisual contents that elaborate the advantages of different electronic transaction mediums in digital age.

The bank is also planning to publish various informational contents regarding 7 major electronic payment mediums (cellphone app, QR Code, ATM internet banking, Connect IPS and digital wallet) through their social media handles.
