Tata Motors has decided to raise the prices of its passenger vehicles across its entire fleet beginning May 8. Tata Motors, an Indian automobile manufacturer, has announced that the prices of its vehicles will rise by an average of 1.8 % beginning tomorrow.
Tata Motors' announcement comes on the heels of several other automakers raising prices on select models in recent months. One of the primary reasons for Tata Motors' decision is the rise in commodity prices.
The hikes will apply to all Tata Motors passenger vehicles, with the amount varying depending on the variants and models. However, the automaker has assured customers that they will be able to book their vehicles by the end of today. Bookings made on or before May 7 will not be affected by the price increase, according to the company.
"Increases in commodity prices, such as steel and precious metals, necessitate us passing on a portion of it through an increase in the price of our products," said Shailesh Chandra, President of Tata Motors' Passenger Vehicles Business.
In order to protect the interests of customers who have already booked cars, we are offering price protection for all bookings made to date (on or before 7th May 2021). This price increase will take effect for bookings made after that date (effective 8 May 2021). Our 'New Forever' product line continues to be well received in the market, and we are grateful to our customers for their continued faith in the brand."
