Tips for driving an automatic car for beginners

No matter how long you've been driving a car, if you're used to a manual transmission, switching to an automatic and letting the car handle the gear changes will take a little practice used to.

For those who are new to driving automatic cars, here are some simple tips:

Make Yourself Comfortable in the Car

When you become anxious, it affects your driving. You may not run into any pedestrians on the road, but you may end up with dents in your car.

As a result, don't be nervous while steering. You should not have the impression that you are driving a special vehicle.

This car has almost all of the same features as the car in which you learned to drive.

If you are extremely nervous, keep an experienced driver by your side who can guide you before things get out of hand.

Be Well-Versed With the Manual Car

There are only a few differences between a manual and an automatic car, one of which is that the latter automatically adjusts to higher gears.

As a result, the basic driving technique, such as adjusting the speed and turning left and right, will be similar to that of manual cars.

If you don't have to reverse your car frequently, you might not even need higher gears.

As a result, before switching to automatic vehicles, you should put in a lot of practice time in manual vehicles.

Use Park, Drive, and Neutral Gears

Before you take your car for a spin, spend some time getting used to the automatic gear shift lever.

Park is a gear that keeps your wheels in place and does not allow them to turn. You'll have a better grip on the steering wheel this way.

This is the gear to use if you want to reverse your car. You can gradually shift to Drive gear while driving the car.

This is the gear used to drive an automatic car on a straight road. On a congested road, however, use the Neutral gear more often. This gear aids in easing traffic transitions.

Make Complete Stops before Switch Gears

Before shifting from one gear to the next, make sure your vehicle has completely stopped.

This entails coming to a complete stop before proceeding from park to drive, drive to park, park to reverse, and so on.

You risk damaging your transmission if you don't do this.

Practice Makes Perfect

Finally, remember that the more you practice, the easier it will become for you.

You should drive slower than other automatic car drivers, even if they are professionals because you are a first-time driver.

You will feel a little out of place at first because this car has fewer gears than a manual car.

As a result, you should drive slowly at first to become acquainted with the gears. The drive gear allows you to move at a faster rate.

What are the hardest things to fix on a car?

14th December 2021
"The hardest thing to fix on a car normally depends on the car model and make which include the engine, transmission, clutch, bodywork, spark plugs, air conditioner, and suspension parts."

Fixing a car in the past was easy as you only needed to have a few tools and some knowledge to make fixes. The hardest thing to fix on a car normally depends on the car model and make.

Overall, the hardest parts to fix on a car include the engine, transmission, clutch, bodywork, spark plugs, air conditioner, and suspension parts.

Clutch

As a “wear and tear” part of a vehicle, the clutch may need to be replaced as often as every 30,000 km, depending on your handling.

The less common reason for repairing the clutch is improper fitting resulting in oil leakage.

Repairing the clutch involves removing the transmission, which is what makes it so difficult to repair.

Engine replacement

If you’ve ever tried replacing the engine, you can easily attest that it’s the most difficult thing to fix on a car.

Since buying a new car is a costly endeavor, many people opt to replace an engine with a company remanufactured engine.

Some of the hardest parts to fix on an engine include the intake manifold, turbocharger, valves, and cylinder head.

Transmission

Even an experienced and well-equipped DIY enthusiast won’t attempt to work on the car’s transmission, let alone change it.

The transmission is one of the hardest and most expensive parts of a car to fix. This is because it’s very complicated to work.

Note that an automatic transmission is even more problematic to fix than a manual transmission.

Spark Plugs

The spark plug is responsible for the ignition of the gas vapors and the operation of the engine.

While the spark plug is not an expensive repair, it is a necessary one as the spark plugs are often worn with use.

The difficulty lies in their small size, coupled with the fact that they are known to be found nestled in the areas of a car that are hard to reach.

Straightening a frame

Straightening a car frame is no joke. Not only is this task cumbersome and time-consuming, but it also needs specialized equipment.

On top of that, it needs a lot of force to be applied to straighten the frame. As a result, this repair should be left for professional mechanics with the right tools to handle it.

How to take care of car's paint

26th January 2022
"It is important to preserve your car's appearance and condition over time to keep it looking new."

The paint on your car is one of the things that make it appealing. It is important to preserve your car's appearance and condition over time to keep it looking new.

So, here are a few tips to help you take care of your car's paint and keep it shining brightly:

Wash regularly

Washing your car regularly is probably the best way to protect the paint job. Dirt and grime can worsen the paint on your car.

If not cleaned immediately, it may cause long-term damage to the appearance of your cars, such as corrosion and rust.

When washed every week, the paint on your car should remain relatively free of even the dirtiest dirt caused by regular driving.

Apply a high-quality car soap with a foam sponge in straight lines rather than circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Wax

Wax forms a protective seal on top of the paint, protecting it from dirt, dust, pollution, water, and other potentially harmful substances.

Wax can also be used to conceal minor scratches and blemishes.

Waxing may sound fancy, but it not only cleans and shines your car, but it also leaves a protective coating that can help preserve the paint.

There are many different types of car wax available in the market to determine which one to use.

Furthermore, avoid applying wax to your car's rubber and plastic parts because it can leave permanent stains.

Keep it out of the sun

The sun's ultraviolet rays are not only harmful to your skin but also the paint job on your car.

Sunlight can oxidize and fade your car's paint, making it appear much older than it is.

Park your car in the shade or under a covered area whenever possible.

This will extend the life of your paint job by several years. As a result, rustproofing your car can extend the life of its paint.

Avoid stains

Stains may appear to be dangerous, even in small amounts.

However, no matter how big or small they are, if not removed promptly, they can permanently damage the paintwork.

You should be concerned about stains such as splattered bugs, spilled fuel, bird droppings, and fingerprints.

Cars are inanimate objects that cannot wash or protect themselves from harmful elements.

That is why keeping them in good condition is essential, as well as a responsibility that owners should bear in mind.
