Keep Home clean with Kids | Tips and Tricks |

Keeping your house neat and tidy when you have children is a difficult task.

When you first have children, you realize how difficult it is to accomplish anything with them.

Here are some helpful tips for managing the chaos and keeping a tidy house with kids.

Keep your systems simple

When the organizing mechanisms are basic, the kids stay organized. They must be simple to understand and straightforward.

Moms like arranging toys into 15 various bins, a youngster will spend twenty minutes standing in front of them with his toy hammer, unsure which one it belongs in.

You want to make cleanup as quick and easy as possible.

So, as a result the fewer categories and bins there are, the better it is for children to be systemic.

Establish cleaning routines

If you've not set cleaning routines, you should! Daily cleaning procedures are most effective when included in your morning and nighttime routines.

You want things to become habitual - to make you feel as though something is missing when you don't perform them.

Routines for daily cleaning keep waste away so that your weekly cleaning routine is much shorter.

A weekly cleaning schedule, as opposed to a tidying program, focuses on extensive cleaning.

Keep baskets and racks kid-accessible

If your children are unable to reach the coat rack, they are unlikely to hang up their jackets. They can't put away the dishes from the dishwasher if they're out of reach (even with a stool).

Purchase child-height hooks and coat stand if at all possible. Organize your kitchen so that everyone can easily access their own dishes.

Use open bins so kids don't have to fight with lids while helping to clean up the house.

Try some habit stacking

Habit stacking may be used in every aspect of your life, even housekeeping!

The goal is to convince your brain to identify a new action with one that you are currently doing. For example, you may say, "After I finish cooking, I'll fill the washing machine."

Habit stacking is an efficient method for getting oneself in the habit of developing new home behavior patterns it works!

Cleaning tips to reduce household dust

"Minimizing the amount of dust in your home makes a huge difference in air quality, and it can help prolong the life of furniture, appliances, and household electronics."

Minimizing the amount of dust in your home makes a huge difference in air quality, and it can help prolong the life of furniture, appliances, and household electronics. While it's impossible to get rid of dust completely, here are some tips for keeping dust at a minimum so you and your family stay healthier:

Clean with Microfiber Products

Microfiber products attract and hold dust with an electrostatic charge which makes them one of the best tools for how to clean dust.

Microfiber cloths are unlike dry rags and feather dusters, which just spread dust around.

Machine washable microfiber products can save you money over disposable brands because you can use them over and over.

Just make sure to let them air dry and don't use bleach or fabric softener, which degrades the fibers and reduces their ability to attract and hold dust.

Vacuum Effectively

Using a vacuum with a high-efficiency particulate air filter will ensure you’re removing as much dust from your home as possible.

To reduce the dust in your home, we would recommend vacuuming at least twice a week – with special attention to high-traffic areas.

Vacuuming is one of the most effective ways of cutting down the dust in your home and you will likely notice a difference straight away.

Sweep and mop Floors Often

You must sweep them as often as you can. Dust is very visible on wooden floors and is easily tracked through the rest of your house.

If you have time, try and dust your floors at the end of each day and give them a clean with a damp mop at least twice a week.

The more frequently you clean your wooden floors, the more you’ll be able to keep dust under control.

Keep Closets Clear

Closets are dust reservoirs, full of tiny fibers from clothes, towels, and bedding.

Every time you open the door, you whip up an invisible dust storm.

You can't prevent clothes from shedding fibers, but you can make closets easier to keep clean and vastly cut down on dust.

Enclose the clothes you rarely wear. Keep closet floors clear.

Change your bed sheet weekly

Dust mites, tiny microscopic insects that feed on human skin cells shed by us, just love the humid environment of a warm and cozy bed.

They also love to live in pillows and mattresses. While dust mites don’t bite, they do cause red, itchy rashes.

Keep Your Pets Well-Groomed

Pets carry dust and dirt and their fur can easily shred and build up around the home.

To keep your home as free from dust as possible it is important to keep your pets well-groomed.

Be sure to groom your pets in the bathroom rather than on the couch or over the carpet, as these areas can be harder to clean. Also, wash your pets’ bedding regularly.

How to keep the house clean with pets

16th January 2022
"If you’re planning on adding a pet to your home, take the time to learn how to keep a house clean with pets first"

If you’re planning on adding a pet to your home, take the time to learn how to keep a house clean with pets first.

Here are tips that will help you keep your house clean despite your pet’s best efforts:

Invest in a good vacuum cleaner

Your vacuum cleaner needs to be capable of picking up pet hair effectively.

It should have powerful suction, work well on all surfaces, and not get clogged easily by excess hair.

You want one with a good filter that is easy to empty. It needs to get into all the tough-to-reach spaces, have tools for use on upholstery, and, ideally, should be as quiet as possible to minimize any stress for your pet.

Cover Any Furniture

Some people make an effort to keep their dogs off their couches and chairs.

But if you’re going to let yours climb on whatever furniture they want, consider covering some of it with bedsheets.

This will prevent your pet from getting hair all over your furniture. It’ll also save you from having to deeply clean your furniture later.

The only thing you’ll have to do to get your furniture clean removes the bedsheets from it and throw them into the washing machine.

Groom your pet regularly

Grooming your pet regularly is an important tip on how to keep your house clean with dogs.

Keeping your pet’s nails trimmed is a preventative measure for limiting unsightly nail damage.

Scampering about with too-long nails results in marred hardwood floors, scratched leather, and punctured upholstery.

Have emergency cleaning supplies

When it comes to cleaning supplies, you can never have enough in a pet-friendly home.

It’s important to deal with accidents and messes as soon as possible to avoid stains or odors, so I always have a fully stocked emergency cleaning station.

Making sure that you clean up any urine or vomit stains quickly and thoroughly is essential from a hygiene perspective, to eliminate any odors, and to minimize the risk of the pet going back again to the same spot.

Store All Your Pet’s Toys

Your pet is going to accumulate a lot of toys throughout its life. Before long, you’re going to find them laying all over your house.

Keep them organized by designating one area in your home for your pet’s toys.

You can buy a toy box for your pet and keep everything in there to reduce the amount of clutter you have inside your home.
