Tips to Save Smartphone in Rainy Season

"The first and foremost thing to do in a rainy season is to keep your smartphone dry while it rains."

The first and foremost thing to do in a rainy season is to keep your smartphone dry while it rains.

Keeping your phone secure during the rainy season may be difficult, especially if you are trapped outside during rainfall.

However, damages can be avoided by planning ahead of time with these tips:

Water-Proof Cover

A plain, affordable water-resistant cover is sufficient to save your phone during the rainy season.

Of course, these water-resistant phone covers aren't flashy and may even make your expensive phone appear unattractive, but keep in mind that they will preserve your device in the long run.

Moreover, if you're getting a new smartphone case, go the extra mile and grab yourself a waterproof cover as well to use it during rainy days.

Ziplock

You must put your smartphone in the zip lock bag when it starts to rain as it is waterproof and will save your phone from external moisture.

You can also carry a silica gel with you as it is useful in keeping things dry.

Moreover, when it starts to rain, place the smartphone and the silica gel pouch in the zip lock bag. The smartphone will be protected from being wet by the zip lock, while the silica gel inside will absorb any extra moisture.

Carry an alternative

During the rainy season, carrying an alternative mobile is the best way to save your phone from external damages. All you can do is carry an old phone or a basic handset.

Moreover, carrying a spare mobile will keep you out of the tension of damaging your smartphone.

Immediately Turn off Your Phone If You Think It’s Wet

If you don't have a zip lock pouch or even a polythene bag to protect your smartphone from the rain, make sure it's turned off and the battery is removed if at all possible.

A wet smartphone might cease operating at any time, and it's also dangerous to use.

Moreover, if the smartphone is turned off and becomes wet, you can expect it to come back to life.

Use Bluetooth headsets

Avoid touching your mobile phone with wet hands. All you can do is carry a Bluetooth headset with you.

You can always put your phone in pockets and use Bluetooth set to receive calls and listen to music.

Foldable Smartphones in Nepal

15th April 2022
"Foldable Smartphones, a next-generation innovation that is likely to win over the customers in days to come."

Foldable Phones, inspiring next-level innovation in Smartphone, are the phones comprising of hinged flexible display whose display folds on a vertical or horizontal axis. The vertical fold on a tablet-like Smartphone creates a regular-sized Smartphone whereas the horizontal fold creates a clamshell-like phone which makes it easier to carry around.

Prior to any other mainstream tech brands, the concept of foldable phones was first unveiled to the market by Royole, a Chinese electronic brand, by introducing Royole FlexPai in 2018. However, foldable phones got more attention after Samsung launched its first-ever foldable phone- Samsung Galaxy Fold in 2019. After Samsung, brands like Huawei, Microsoft, LG, etc. have brought and are bringing their foldable phones into the market.

Currently, there are many foldable smartphones available in the global market such as Galaxy Fold, Royole FlexPai, Huawei Mate X and Xs, Galaxy Z Flip, Motorola Razr, LG’s V60, Microsoft Surface Duo, etc.

Along with new Smartphone innovations, the size of the display and the phone itself is increasing. As a result, it’s difficult to carry phones. Some phones are too big even to hold in hands or to put in pockets. As a result, the risk of dropping them is high which leads to phone impairment. Foldable phones can be the best solution to this problem. You can have a Smartphone with a bigger screen and won’t have to worry about any impairment because- fold it and keep it, as easy as it sounds.

Also, with the flexible Smartphone, multi-tasking will be actually possible- you would be able to run different apps and software at the same time. Foldable phones, with their larger size, can hold larger battery reducing the battery problems. It is also likely to replace the laptops as you can carry a convenient-sized smart device without being troubled by any burden.

In the context of Nepal, unfortunately, the riveting foldable Smartphone is yet to enter the market. For the Nepalese market and customers, foldable Smartphone is a new and unfamiliar concept; so, they are somehow dubious about the smartphone and its features. The questions about its folding problems, durability and price are making people sceptical. I believe, the doubts will be cleared once the foldable phones enter the market and people experience the functions and features on their own.

Ways to Protect Smartphone from External Damages

A mobile phone is an essential and indispensable device but if you get damaged then repairing also requires a lot of expense.

Just as we protect the members of our body from being harmed, it is also necessary that we protect our phones from damage. So it is better to use precautions and make your phone protect from damage.

Screen Protector

Modern smartphones typically include scratch- and impact-resistant screens made from Gorilla Glass or something similar. However, these screens are not indestructible, so you might consider getting a screen protector.

Moreover, a screen glass protector shelters your phone display and some of them are oil-resistant and absorbent that reducing all smudges, marks, spots, and fingerprints.

Case

In this fast-paced and multitasking life, it is possible that you may time and again drop the phone and damage it.

To clearly avoid this sort of event it is strongly advised that you use a phone case. Using a good quality phone cover is a blessing to your smartphone as it protects the sides, back and some cases even protect the front of your mobile device.

We all know that in this fast going and paced life, sometimes handy devices like handsets can get damaged, and repair expense is also high. So using a good quality phone case is necessary for the user.

Avoid Extreme Temperatures

Extremely hot or cold temperatures can damage your smartphone.

Leaving it in excessive heat or cold for a long time can hurt the battery and the device’s internal components, potentially leading to data loss, shortened battery life, or even the need to replace the phone.

Self-Protect

When you place the phone in your pocket make sure that you do not keep coins and or any other pointed type of stuff in the same pocket because this results in the display screen being scratched or damaged.

Moreover, keep your phone away from sharp types of equipment and metal. Inside pocket or a purse not only protects your mobile from any drop but also saves it from other harms.
