Tips to clean aquarium or Fishtank at home

8th February 2022
"Cleaning your fish tank regularly, which includes partial water changes and water testing, is an important part of keeping your fish happy and healthy."

Fish, like any other pet, requires love, dedication, and care. Cleaning your fish tank regularly, which includes partial water changes and water testing, is an important part of keeping your fish happy and healthy.

Here are some tips to help you clean your fish tank like a pro:

Use the Right Size Tank

To begin, make sure your tank is the appropriate size for the fish you keep.

The fish will be stressed if your tank is too small, and the tank will become filthy much faster.

However, if your tank is too large, the fish will be uncomfortable and it will take up a lot more space to keep clean.

Choose the Best Filter

The filter in your tank will keep the water clean by filtering out debris and waste.

Select the appropriate filter size and strength for your tank setup, and purchase the best option your budget allows.

The best filter will have chemical, mechanical, and biological filtration elements.

Feed Your Fish Properly

Provide your fish with high-quality food to improve digestion, and only feed them the appropriate amount of food on a strict schedule.

Any food that remains uneaten after 5-10 minutes should be strained out and removed to avoid leakage of the tank.

Regularly change the water

Regular water changes can help keep your tank clean by removing dirty, spent water and replacing it with clean water.

Only change 10-20% of the water every 2-3 weeks to keep the tank balanced and your fish comfortable.

Trim Plants and clean props

However, if you notice any leaves or grasses turning brown or decaying in your fish tank, trim those dead bits away to keep the tank clean.

Props like rocks, logs, castles, sunken ships, and other accents can add structure and whimsy to your tank, but they don't look as good when they're covered in algae.

To remove algae buildup and keep them clean, rinse them with hot water and wipe them down.

Vacuum the Gravel

Fish feces, shed scales, uneaten food, dead plant bits, and other debris will settle to the bottom of your aquarium.

Vacuuming the gravel once a week will remove much of this debris while also refreshing the tank, brightening the gravel, and keeping it healthier.

Also, clean the outside of the glass regularly, taking care not to contaminate the water with glass cleaner or other chemicals.

How to keep the house clean with pets

16th January 2022
"If you’re planning on adding a pet to your home, take the time to learn how to keep a house clean with pets first"

If you’re planning on adding a pet to your home, take the time to learn how to keep a house clean with pets first.

Here are tips that will help you keep your house clean despite your pet’s best efforts:

Invest in a good vacuum cleaner

Your vacuum cleaner needs to be capable of picking up pet hair effectively.

It should have powerful suction, work well on all surfaces, and not get clogged easily by excess hair.

You want one with a good filter that is easy to empty. It needs to get into all the tough-to-reach spaces, have tools for use on upholstery, and, ideally, should be as quiet as possible to minimize any stress for your pet.

Cover Any Furniture

Some people make an effort to keep their dogs off their couches and chairs.

But if you’re going to let yours climb on whatever furniture they want, consider covering some of it with bedsheets.

This will prevent your pet from getting hair all over your furniture. It’ll also save you from having to deeply clean your furniture later.

The only thing you’ll have to do to get your furniture clean removes the bedsheets from it and throw them into the washing machine.

Groom your pet regularly

Grooming your pet regularly is an important tip on how to keep your house clean with dogs.

Keeping your pet’s nails trimmed is a preventative measure for limiting unsightly nail damage.

Scampering about with too-long nails results in marred hardwood floors, scratched leather, and punctured upholstery.

Have emergency cleaning supplies

When it comes to cleaning supplies, you can never have enough in a pet-friendly home.

It’s important to deal with accidents and messes as soon as possible to avoid stains or odors, so I always have a fully stocked emergency cleaning station.

Making sure that you clean up any urine or vomit stains quickly and thoroughly is essential from a hygiene perspective, to eliminate any odors, and to minimize the risk of the pet going back again to the same spot.

Store All Your Pet’s Toys

Your pet is going to accumulate a lot of toys throughout its life. Before long, you’re going to find them laying all over your house.

Keep them organized by designating one area in your home for your pet’s toys.

You can buy a toy box for your pet and keep everything in there to reduce the amount of clutter you have inside your home.
