5 Tips on maintaining your Air Purifier

1st November 2020
"Take care of the air purifier that eliminates the pollutants from your room."

The sole purpose of an air purifier is to clean the pollutants from your room and maintain a healthy pollutant and bacteria-free environment. But it will not be able to function and serve its purpose if it itself is not properly maintained. The steps and process of maintaining and taking care of an air purifier differ with its types. Nevertheless, here are few things you should take into consideration for a long-lasting air purifier.

Place in an open area

You buy an air purifier to clean the room and its atmosphere. But will it be fair if contrasting to its purpose, you place it in a congested place? It may clean that particular area, but the rest of the room may still be filled with pollutants. Moreover, if you place an air purifier in a corner-blocked by your furniture, the air purifier won't be able to serve its purpose. So, place the purifier in an open space from where it can easily suck the pollutants and make your room air clean. Also, make sure to place it in a clean area or clean the area continuous to avoid any inefficiency.

Check filter indicator

Make sure to check the filter indicator timely. Also, check the permanent filters and their situation timely to ensure your air purifier is working effectively.

Turn off the air purifier

It is mandatory for the protection and preservation of every electronic, turn off the equipment before unplugging it from the socket to avoid any form of circuit damage. Prior to the cleaning process, turn the air purifier off from the socket. And before that, make sure you turn off the air purifier before unplugging it. And also, do not place anything above the air purifier.

Cleaning insides and filter

Pre-filters are washable, so you can easily wash the dirt off the pre-filters. Also, do it regularly to secure sanitized filters. And if it is a HEPA or carbon filter, do not wash it and never ever vacuum the filters. If filters are dirty and filled with bacteria, then what good will they do to the air around us? So, cleaning the filters is essential. Also, clean the insides of the air purifier with a dry cloth. Avoid any form of dampness or water inside the air purifier. As for the outer parts, you can clean it with damp clothes.

Cleaning permanent filters

Permanent filters are the most essential part of your air purifier. They cannot be changed if they stop working or get damaged; thereupon, make sure to check the permanent filters and its condition every 2 weeks and clean it every 3 months to avoid early obsolescence.

Right tire pressure and how to maintain it ?

7th April 2020
"Tire maintenance is one of the most important things you can do for your car from a safety and cost standpoint."

Tire maintenance is one of the most important things you can do for your car from a safety and cost standpoint. The easiest way to care for your tires is both quick and inexpensive: maintain the correct tire pressure.

Right Tire Pressure

Since maintaining your tires is so important to your safety and your car’s overall performance, it’s important to know what tire pressure is right for your vehicle. Air pressure in tires is measured in pounds per square inch, or PSI; usually, the recommended tire pressure ranges between 30 and 35 PSI.

To learn what your tire pressure should be, look for your manufacturer’s recommendation, which is printed on a label inside your car. Depending on the vehicle, this label may be on the edge of the vehicle’s door, on the doorpost or in the glove box. The label will usually give recommendations for the front and rear tires as well as the spare, and it’s important you stick to those guidelines. (While you’re at it, check the air in your spare tire, too. It loses air pressure over time.) Even after you’ve replaced your tires, the same pressure guidelines on your car’s label apply to new tires of the same size. If your tires are larger than the stock models that came on your car and you’re unsure of the recommended PSI, check the tire’s sidewall to find the maximum cold PSI level.

Pressure recommendations are based on readings taken from a tire pressure gauge. Check the pressure first thing in the morning or wait at least three hours after driving; this provides sufficient time for them to cool back down.

How to maintain correct tire pressure?

Knowing your recommended PSI isn’t enough. You have to ensure you’re checking your tires regularly. Some experts recommend you check the air pressure every time you refuel; others say once a month is sufficient. Your car’s TPMS, tire pressure monitoring system, measures the amount of air in your tires to let you know if your tires are properly inflated.

Frequently checking your PSI becomes even more important in the fall and winter, when outside temperatures drop and weather conditions fluctuate causing your tires to lose air more quickly. Generally speaking, your tire will gain or lose one PSI for every 10-degree change in temperature, which means if you have a sudden drop of 30 degrees, you could lose three PSI overnight. If your tires were already low, this could cause tire damage, steering problems or even a flat tire.

Knowing and maintaining the right air pressure is important to the safety and longevity of tires. All it takes is a tire pressure gauge and a few minutes of your time.

Tips on Maintaining and taking care of your Air Conditioner unit

6th October 2020
"Make sure to do servicing once a year and clean the unit once or twice a month."

Air Conditioners can be considered as lifesavers if you live in a really hot place be it the Middle East or the Terai of Nepal. To survive in such a hot climate you either need a fan or an AC. AC can be the best choice if you want cool air flowing all over your room kicking off the sweat without having any trouble shifting the fan as you shift. However, your wallet or bank account might have to lose some weight if you choose to go with an AC.

If you don't want to regret pouring your wealth in unsuitable AC, do some research on the things that one must keep in mind before buying an AC. After buying, if you do not clean the AC and its filter, fin, and ducts timely, allergens may settle in the duct and may pollute the air you breathe in. Besides, make sure to do servicing every year and clean the unit once or twice a month. So, proper maintenance of the AC is essential to make it last for a longer period. We present you with some tips on maintaining your Air conditioner.

Clean and replace the filters

The most important part of an AC that requires periodical maintenance is the filters. Cleaning and replacing the filters timely can ensure the increase in the lifespan of your AC as well as its efficient operation. Make sure to clean the filters once or twice a month for excellent efficiency. Dirt and debris may get collected in the filter and which when the air flows passes to the evaporator coil and damages the coil. Besides, the dirt collected in the filter may clog the airflow or may pollute the air you breathe as well. Thereupon, clean and replace the filters timely to avoid any sort of problems.

Clean the coils

No matter how much you take care of the filters, dirt may eventually get collected in the evaporator and condenser coils. The dirt collected in the coils may cover and insulate the coils resulting in the inefficiency of the coils to absorb the heat. So, clean the coils every year to avoid any sort of damage or inefficiency in the AC. Not just the coils of the indoor unit, check the coils of the outdoor units as well. Try to place the units in a place where they can avoid dirt and debris.

Timely cleaning of the indoor and outdoor units

It is essential to clean the entire unit from time-to-time to avoid the collection of dirt and debris in the unit. Also, try to keep the environment around the units clean as well.

Comb the Coil fins

The coil fins on the evaporator and condenser coils are easily bent which may result in blockage of airflow. So, make sure to comb the fins and straighten them gently by using a butter knife or a fin comb that are available in the wholesale markets. Make sure to comb the fins gently as they are pretty sensitive and can break or bend quite easily.

Winter preparation

During the winter, it's best if you either cover the unit or remove and store it in some convenient place so that it won't suffer further from dirt when it's not used. Also, if possible, cover the outdoor unit of the split AC to protect it from the dirt and debris in winters. It's best to cover the units with plywood rather than a tarp.

Hire a professional

In case of any form of serious damage or change in noise, hire the professionals immediately for repair, else your AC may either turn obsolete or may lead to expensive repairs in the future.

Try to avoid heat inside the house

Close the curtains and windows in order to avoid the heat and warmth inside your house or room. It can help to reduce the heat to some extent.

Know when to buy a new AC

Once your AC reaches to the point where any professional maintenance won't help it, don't push it any further and let it go. As the old AC may not function properly, they lead to several health-related inconveniences. Once you decide on buying a new AC, dispose of the unit properly, rather than just tossing it in the garbage bin.
