coffee-maker

Here are a few things that you must keep in mind while buying a coffee maker.

Type

There are several types of coffee makers available in the market. From drip coffee makers to thermal carafe coffee makers, you can choose any type of coffee maker that suits you. If you are a fan of cappuccino or espresso, then go with drip models which are specialists in making them. Or you may also go with regular coffee brewing machines for regular coffee. Well, there are lots of options, some even make great black coffee and some make great espresso. Do your research prior to purchase.

Capacity

Besides the type, you must check the capacity or size of the coffee maker. Capacity means the amount of water it can hold and the cups of coffee it can make at once. Most of the coffee makers can make up to 12 cups at once. But, depending upon your requirement, you can go with the coffee makers that make lesser coffee in one go.

Speed and recovery

As there are different types of coffee makers, there are different methods of brewing coffee. Some prefer coffee that is made with proper care and a long time while some wish to have instant coffee. The speed of steaming and brewing the coffee differs as per the machines. If you want to make coffee at greater speed, then go with the coffee makers that have a larger water tank, dual boiler for heat, and have the ability to steam the milk and brew at the same time.

Convenience and User friendly

Imagine yourself waking up all grumpy and having to read the manuals or surf the internet as you cannot understand how to pause the brew or make your coffee stronger. Forget the coffee, it's more likely that your morning and your mood will be ruined. So, before buying a coffee maker seek out the buttons or features with easy accessibility and easy operation. It's best if you have few buttons that allow you to pause the brew, adjust the heat, water filling, et cetera.

Moreover, if you are a busy person, go for the ones that require low maintenance so that you won't have to worry about maintaining the machine from time-to-time.

Filters

Good filters make your coffee taste better. There are different types of filters i.e. paper filter, the metal filter, and water filter. Metal filters are widely used in restaurants and cafes as they are permanent and can be reused after a simple wash. Besides, they help to make dark and hard coffee as well. As for the paper filter, they are use-and-throw filters which have great health benefits as they remove cholesterol. If you want a calm and elite coffee, then go with the paper filters.

Smart tech

If you have enough budget to support coffee makers with smart tech features then just do it. Coffee makers with smart features help the users to use it efficiently without worrying about anything. There are features like a water level indicator with which you don't have to panic measuring the right amount of water. Auto clean feature as not everyone can spare time of their busy schedule to clean the machine. Auto shut off- to ensure you don't waste any unnecessary energy if you forget to shut the machine off. Technology makes your life better and your machine efficient; so, do go with the ones with smart tech features.

Price

Not every pricy coffee maker gives you the coffee of your satisfaction. Firstly, let the thought that pricy coffee makers are better off your mind. Price of the coffee maker depends upon the features. Better and advance the features, the higher the price of the coffee maker. So, check the brands, their aftersale service, and features thoroughly while buying a coffee maker.

Things to consider while buying a TV

21st September 2020
"Buying TV is not a piece of cake, from size to contrast, everything should be thoroughly examined."

Do you want to enrich the look of your living room with a beautiful TV? Or, are you in need of one and don't have proper knowledge about TV and how to choose an appropriate one? If you are looking for basic knowledge or tips to consider while buying a TV, then keep on reading.

The trend of TV has been somehow decreasing due to the advancement of smartphones and the internet for the past decade. However, TV nowadays is as smart as smartphones with a bigger screen and better customer experience. Buying a Television for your home can be stressful with all the budget that one has to pour into it. Here, are few things to consider while buying a TV that'll cool your stress down.

Size

Bigger the size, the fancier the TV, and the better the user experience. However, one must not forget the capacity of the room. Measure the dimensions of the room and thoroughly examine the size of the TV that you require for your room. You might regret buying a 55-inches bigger, fancier TV if you have a small room of just 7-ft height and 8-ft length. So, select the size that is suitable for your room.

Viewing distance

Viewing distance, when put straightforward, is the distance from the TV that must be kept in order to prevent any kind of stress in your eyes. Normally, a distance of 4-ft is a must if you're buying a 32-inches LED TV. And, for TV with 40-48 inches, a viewing distance of at least 7-ft is a must. Likewise, for 55-inch or 65-inch LED TV, a 9-ft viewing distance is needed.

Resolution

For better viewing experience, the resolution should be considered. If you are looking TV for normal usage like for watching news once or twice a day, and are short on budget, then you can go for a 720p resolution. Nevertheless, if you have enough budget and use the TV for gaming, watching movies, Netflix, etc., then don't settle for less than 1080p i.e. FHD. If possible go for UHD, or else go after FHD.

Audio Output

TV must have a good screen with good visuals, but the audio output of the TV should also be checked. Budget TV may have a pleasing display but the audio output may be a disappointment. So, try to get a soundbar speaker to enrich your experience with better sound quality.

Connectivity Options

The more connectivity options better the experience. If you want to use the TV for other purposes like gaming, watching movies, etc., then look out for other connectivity options like HDMI, USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, and other AV ports. Also, the presence of Bluetooth connectivity will be an advantage.

Refresh Rate

Refresh rate means the number of times the picture on the screen gets refreshed within a second. The higher the refresh rate is smoother the video appears. Go for TV with a refresh rate between 60Hz to 120Hz.

Contrast

The contrast ratio describes the range of brightness levels your TV can display. Better the contrast, better the brightness levels. There are different ways of measuring the contrast ratio; so, check thoroughly while looking out for contrast.

Smart TV

Not all 'smart TV' is smart. Some smart TV offer variety of apps and features, whereas some lack in such apps. Better go after the Google-certified or android-certified Smart TV that offers a variety of features including play store, voice assistant, etc.

Things to consider while buying a washing machine | Reviews Nepal

23rd September 2020
"Washing machines come in two different types- semi-automatic and fully-automatic."

Washing machines, the hassle-free equipment to wash your clothes conveniently, has been quite a trend even in Nepal for quite a time now. With busy schedules and people's tendency to seek convenience, the preference for washing machines is growing. However, not everyone can afford it as good washing machines are quite pricy and the ones that are cheaper might not do the work. Well, with depth research, you can surely find the washing machine that will be suitable for you. Here we provide you some ideas on things that should be considered while buying a washing machine.

Washing Machine Capacity

The capacity of the washing machine is measured in kilograms that are directly linked with the weight of clothes you plan to wash. If you have a larger family and wash the clothes once or twice a week then go after a large capacity washing machine. But if you plan on washing the clothes in a portion in a few days interval then you can also go after a medium or even small-capacity washing machine. The only problem will be that it will take more time to do all the laundry.

Type

Washing machines mainly are of two types semi-automatic washing machines which require a lot of human intervention and fully-automatic washing machines which is totally automated and you just have to put clothes for wash and take them out once they are done. Moreover, there are top-loading and front-loading automatic washing machines which differ from each other due to the positioning of the tubes for washing and drying. If you are tight on budget then go after semi-automatic washing machines where you will have to manually take the clothes out from the washing tube and put them into the dryer tube. And, in the case of automatic washing machines, front-loading washing machines are the most expensive that comes with a number of washing programs. Nonetheless, top-loading washing machines are also quite good as they offer decent wash programs at a smaller budget.

The material of Drum/Tub

The drum or Tub of a washing machine is simply the drum where you wash all the clothes and dry them. Being a major part of the washing machine, the buyer must not forget to examine its material. The drum, generally, is made up of stainless steel, plastic, or porcelain-enamel. Plastic tubs last longer than the enamel tubs as they rust pretty fast. Nonetheless, the tubs made up of stainless steel are the best.

Wash Settings

Wash settings are the wash programs that are available in the washing machines. Generally, the top-loading washing machines come with varieties of wash programs. From gentle wash for frail clothes to synthetic wash for cotton clothes, there are a variety of programs that vary in the amount of drum rotation and temperature. If you have such wash program alternatives, you can set the program as per the clothes you wash and can also save your favorite settings.

Spin Cycle

The spin cycle is determined by the revolution per minute that is used for drying your clothes. The higher the spin cycle or revolution per minute, the better the cloth dries. The spin cycle, however, differs among the clothes. For frail clothes, the spin cycle can be 300-500 rpm whereas for thicker clothes like jeans 1000 rpm will be the best.

Temperature control

It's difficult to wash the clothes at the same temperature throughout the year, especially during the winter. With a temperature control feature on your washing machine, you can control the temperature of the water in your washing machine. Besides, we all know that clothes are easier to clean with hot water rather than cold water.
