Tips for exfoliating your face - Reviews
"Get rid of those dead skin cells with exfoliation and revive that fresh glowing skin."
Exfoliation helps you purge the dead skin cells which often make you look dull and older. With exfoliation, you can attain flawless, smooth, and lively skin. The exfoliated skin soaks in the moisturizer properly and succors your foundation to apply smoothly. Exfoliation is essential for your skin but choosing the exfoliant should be done with precautions as it affects tour skin largely. Here're a few tips on proper exfoliation of your skin.
Types of Exfoliation
Exfoliation can be of two types i.e. physical exfoliation and chemical exfoliation.
Physical Exfoliation
Physical exfoliation can be easily done with the things lying around in your house. You can exfoliate using scrubs, washcloths, soft bristle brushes, et cetera. Physical exfoliation can be easy but it's not suitable for everyone. Moreover, excessive use of items like bristle brushes can widen the pore openings as well.
Chemical exfoliation
Chemical exfoliation may sound more aggressive than physical exfoliation, but it's not the same. With chemical exfoliation, you can easily wipe off the dead skin cells more gently than a scrub. The chemical peels for exfoliation are widely recommended by the dermatologist.
Skin type
Moreover, while choosing the exfoliant you need to evaluate the exfoliant that's best for your skin type. People with dry skin need to go with an exfoliation that hydrates their skin afterward. And for ones with oily skin, you need to choose the exfoliant that'll get rid of excess oil, sebum, dirt, and debris.
Season
As the seasons affect your makeup and skincare routine, it also affects the exfoliation and exfoliants you'll require. Two major extreme seasons that always have the most effect on your skin are summer and winter. I'll give you oily, sweaty, and congested skin. While the other will give you dull and dry skin. The AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is best suited for dry skin and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) is best suited for oily skin. So, you can swap between these acids as per your skin's requirement during the seasonal changes.
Do not over-exfoliate
No matter how tempting exfoliation is, you must not overdo it. It's best to exfoliate once to twice a week, but not more than that. Stick with one product and use it regularly to get the best results. Also, morning time is best to exfoliate your skin. Happy exfoliating!
