Skin care routine for acne prone skin

27th October 2020
"Keep calm and keep sticking to these skin care routine."

Due to inopportune breakouts, are you always canceling plans? Despite any effort to hold them at bay, do acne signs haunt your life? Any girl's adversary is Acnes, but some get it worse than others. There's no safer choice for the unluckier ones than a ride to the dermatologist for heavy-duty acne care. But we've assembled a list of skincare habits for those who experience minor, infrequent breakouts triggered by food, lifestyle, fatigue, or just that time of the month.

Although everyone’s skin is unique, there are five main types

Dry, Combination, Normal, Oily, Sensitive

Cleansing (Morning And Night)

cleansing

Regardless of your skin type, cleansing should be the first step in every skincare regimen.

It’s essential to effectively cleanse your skin twice a day, especially if you have acne-prone skin. This helps eliminate all the impurities, oil, and dirt which may clog pores and result in blemishes, whiteheads, or blackheads. You need to wage a very gentle war with the help of a sulfate-free, mild cleanser that does the job of dissolving bacteria, dirt, and excess oil without stripping your skin or leaving it irritated.

Don’t massage or rub any product onto your skin. This will aggravate the acne.

Toner (Morning and Night)

toner

The next move after washing is to apply a toner for the pores to open up. For the next stage, toners aim to prepare the skin so that the ingredients can be thoroughly absorbed.

Toners may assist in removing additional oil, combating blemishes, blackheads, and hydrating the skin. Take a ball of cotton and apply a few toner drops to it. Apply carefully across your forehead and ears.

For an oily skincare regimen that is susceptible to acne, astringents are suitable because they are meant to remove extra fat. For dry, acne-prone skin, hydrating toner is the ideal skincare regimen.

Use a moisturizer ( Morning and night)

moisturizer

Hydrated skin is skin that is happy. A moisturizer helps to heal the skin, hydrate it, and preserve it. Moisturizing already oily skin might seem to be counterproductive. By comparison, all skin types require regular hydration, including a skincare regimen for acne.

The glands go into overdrive without a moisturizer to compensate and land up accumulating extra oil, resulting in clogged pores and painfully shiny skin. Your skin is desperate for moisture after acne therapy. A light moisturizer prevents dried and peeling skin, once in the morning and once at night.

Using sunscreen

sunscreen

It is non-negotiable, regardless of the skin condition, to use SPF every single day.

There's no tradition of playing nice with sunscreen and acne-prone forms of skin. Most individuals miss sunscreen because dense SPF normally obstructs pores and induces more breakouts. Please reconsider if this is one reason why you are steering clear of this item.

Sunscreens should be an important component of your regimen for acne skincare because certain drugs for acne treatment leave your skin susceptible to sun exposure. You are also vulnerable to symptoms of premature aging, damage to the skin, growth of skin cancers, etc. Be sure to use a sunscreen designed for the face.

Acne treatment products

acne

The cornerstone in every skin-care regimen is treatment materials made with active ingredients, and this is the stage where the miracle really occurs. To intensify your acne's downfall, couple your night skincare regimen for acne-prone skin with targeted acne medicine such as spot treatments.

Potent additives that reduce pimples and lighten wounds are used in acne remedies. It's safer to use a dermatologist on prescription medication. Before you see results, allow your skin enough time to conform to the skincare regimen for acne-prone skin. You ought to use a substance for at least six weeks, and once or twice a day, to make a difference.

Tips to Keep Your Makeup Safe | Reviews

3rd November 2020
"Be safe, be beautiful! Glam up girls."

For tons of reasons, people wear makeup. but, if you're not careful, it may create issues with our skin. Your skin, eyes, or both will be irritated. Your skin can also ingest potentially harmful additives.

Here's some info to help keep your skin safe.

Expiration dates

expired

Many cosmetics do not bear expiry dates and can linger in their unopened packaging for years. Depending on how much you wear them, how they are handled, how they are processed, and the type of makeup, how long cosmetics can be safe to use, and effective. Since they are exposed to more bacteria and fungi, cosmetics used by the skin, including mascara, have a shorter shelf period.

  • Foundation: Liquid for six months; powder for two years;
  • Mascara: Three months with mascara
  • Eyeliner and eye shadow: Three months of liquid eyeliner; six months of cream eye shadow; two years of pencil liner and powdered shadow;
  • Lipstick and lip liner: Lipstick and gloss, 2 years; lip liner, 2 years or more
  • Nail polish: Two years
  • Sunscreen: Six months
  • Products for hair: One year
  • Fragrance: Two or three years

You should bear in mind that expiry dates or use-by dates are just things to keep in mind in order to remain safe. If the products are not adequately packed, the consistency of such cosmetics, sunscreens, and acne creams will degrade faster.

Makeup degradation

makeup-degradation

Makeup degradation is a serious issue as it directly goes to your skin. There are many factors that degrade your makeup like exposing it to heat, moisture, and so on.

Here are some things you should and shouldn't do to keep your makeup safe.

  • Try not to use your fingers to apply makeup. Bacteria, mold, and yeast may be added to the bottle by using the fingers to add makeup. The best way to apply makeup is to use sponges, swabs, etc.
  • Do not keep your mascara applicators open for a long time. Shut it as soon as possible after use.
  • Do not store your makeup products in your car or bathroom or any place with extra humidity or heat. Also do not expose it to direct sunlight. That might alter its texture.
  • Change your products timely. It depends on how much you use them, how they are packed, how they are kept and the type of makeup, how long cosmetics can stay safe to use, and successful.
  • The cleanest is the make-up that comes with a pump so it can be dispensed into an applicator or onto the hand while still in the tube to cover the leftover substance.

Ingredients to avoid while buying a Hair Colorant/Dye

21st November 2020
"Watch out for harmful ingredients before you and your hair suffer."

Who doesn't like dyed hair that brings a better glow to our skin than our natural colored hair? Dyeing hair is fun but the aftermath might be preposterous for many of us. From frizziness to split-ends and extreme hair fall, your hair may face several problems after dyeing. The aftermath might frustrate you to the level where you wish to go completely bald, and believe me, few of them do. If you do not want to face such problems, then you must be cautious while buying your hair color. Not every ingredient in your hair dye is beneficial for your hair. Some are just chemicals to give a pleasant scent while applying but are harmful to your hair. To put you at ease, we've listed out the major ingredients that must be avoided in a hair dye to prevent your hair from any form of side-effects.

Paraphenylenediamine(PPD)

PPD is an ingredient that is widely used in most hair colorants, mostly in permanent hair colors. They are also known as oxidative. PPD is not really harmful if it's used up to 2% of the hair dye. But, if a hair dye contains PPD above the level, you may face several problems. Many people also face allergic reactions to PPD; as a result, it is widely discouraged. Even though PPD's usage is restricted in other cosmetic products, it has not been banned in any country till now. If you have used a hair dye with PPD make sure to follow the instructions strictly as it may result in something harmful otherwise. You can also find much PPD-free hair dye as well.

Para-toluenediamine(PTD)

PTD is used in most of the permanent hair colors. Natural hair color safety should be paramount in your choice of hair coloring dye. Many people also have reported having allergic reactions to PTD. The European Commission (Health and Consumer Safety) has concluded that the use of toluene-2, 5-diamine cannot be considered safe for hair coloring or hair shaft. So, try to avoid any PTD as far as possible.

Quaternium-15

If you search Quaternium-15 on the internet, you'll find some articles referring to it as- a cosmetic ingredient to be afraid of or skin toxicant and allergen. Quaternium-15 can cause irritation and sensitization. It may also cause allergic reactions to your eyes. It is also a formaldehyde-releasing preservative. It may even lead to contact dermatitis. Mainly, hairdressers and janitors are affected by this. Even though the Cosmetics Directives of the EU has agreed up to 0.2% presence of the Quaternium in cosmetic products, try to avoid the products that contain quaternary ammonium compounds by reading the labels.

Resorcinol

Resorcinol is largely used in the rubber industry. I guess this sentence clears up your thought. Even though the chemical is combined with other chemicals such as potassium hydroxide to enable its safe use, it has a skin-deep hazard ratio of 9. Also, Resorcinol is the primary cause of hair dye related contact dermatitis. So, check out the label while buying hair dye and try to avoid it.
